I made this tonight but I tripled the recipe to make 3 little cakes. I haven't seen those mini springform pans at the Walmart in Honolulu. I had to order them online. Mini cakes came out really moist. I have a gas oven so I only had to bake them at 20 mins. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!! Thanks so much for posting this lovely little cake for two. We are just two people and dont want to always make a full sized cake, so this was perfect !! It came out just like yours and I filled it with ganache infused with Cointreau and whipped cream with a little icing sugar and Cointreau mixed in and I did add a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the cake, beautiful !!! It would be great if you could adapt a few other recipes for two, like normal sponge cake or muffins/friands/even bread dough.....

This is the only recipe that worked for me and my family. Thank you so much. The cake remains extremely soft and moist and tasty even after 5-7 days. I like sweet cakes so I add 5tbsp of powdered sugar and a sweet ganache 😍❤

hello chef...do we have to consider the size of the oven....regarding the pre heating process...there are some oven which is 43 liters and the other is 23 liters...how does a pre-heating process goes with this kind of oven..thanks...just confused..

+liza agra Hi Liza, it does not matter how large or small your oven is. Always pre-heat. You will turn your oven on *before* you start your recipe so that your oven obtains the correct temperature that your recipe requires. You can say that it will take about 15 minutes for your oven to hit the correct temperature. Some ovens can do this in just 10 minutes or so. I would use this recipe, and just use enough to fill your cake pan about 3/4 full. Use the rest of the batter to make a few cupcakes. Thank you for watching my video 👍😊

I don't really understand your question. In addition to the oil I used in my recipe ? If you wish to use butter, use butter. Crisco is not butter, it's vegetable shortening.

You are asking me if Crisco has a butter flavored shortening ? ... yes they do. You can use it if you wish, but by doing so, you will have a very oily cake using the oil in my recipe. So you will have to adjust the recipe.

normal. If you feel a sandy texture this to me means there are other things in the cocoa like fillers. ( lower quality ) also, the cocoa needs to be very hydrated in the recipe. ( dissolved completely )

For sure you can, but as you may have surmised, the cake will be lower in your pan. You'll also wish to decrease the baking time to take in account that more of the cake is exposed to the heat of the oven, so it will bake at a quicker rate. Try it out, it will work 100% fine. I did not use grease. Grease is a low quality fat that is usually a solid at room temperature, and not intended for use in baked goods like cakes or cookies. I used good quality vegetable oil in this recipe. You may also use melted butter.
