This is by far the most simple and detailed blender tutorial I’ve ever watched
2 жыл бұрын
So I've binge watched this tutorial a first time, then a second time while trying to reproduce it step by step, then a third time and then back and forth in the video to find where was my error, because my result was not good. Few hours later, I realized I'd missed the "be sure to have the Auto Normalize checked". Then some more time to experiment the options of weight paint. At the end, I've learned a lot. Thank you for this awesome tutorial.

Your videos are what I have been looking for. When I started using blender I was terrified because I couldn’t model characters, navigate, make rigs, etc. I especially was terrified of lip sync but your tutorials are so in-depth and detailed even though the result is simple and stylized. Thank you.

- Professional animation quality mouth rig - Easy TO USE (though requires a bit of time to setup) - Simple/minimal character face model I was expecting a flapping lips animation, but was pleasantly surprised when you went all the way. Thanks, great tutorial!

Around 10 and half minutes he says to CTRL + Click to select the bones, then the screen shows SHIFT + Click. Not sure if it's a MAC thing, but on Mac, I had to CTRL + SHIFT + Click for it to work. If you're having trouble, try that. Great walkthrough and a serious help for the rigging and weight painting especially!

If you had to make separate keyframes for the smile and the frown (I had to because a negative smile looked weird on the animal mouth I was making) Then you can simply edit the driver on the smile and change the Expression to Value*-10. That way Z axis movement will still control the smile and frown, but this will allow the smile to occur when going up and the frown should occur when going down. (Going down = moving the lips bone down on the z axis to clarify)

I find it easier to use shape keys to animate a mouth. Animating like that ain’t too hard for certain mouth shapes depending on the rig.
@fabianoperes21553 жыл бұрын
MAZING tutorial. I wonder how it would be different for an animal-like mouth rig. Like a kangaroo that has a big mouth projected forward along with its nose but needs to talk. Would it be possible to have the same level of control? An animal-like face rig would be a very appreciative tutorial.
