Wonderful information....plz suggest weather i can pot dancing girl on coconut shell and hang it...how to create perfect humidity for them
@adyashasorchiddiaries95503 жыл бұрын
Hi.. thank you... though I personally don't have dancing lady on coconut shell but I have seen some growers do it...u can try growing it that way...if it's the hard wooden shell u r talking about them it will require more frequent waterings and if along with the husk then be careful as it might hold too much water..inorder to increase humidity u can mist it twice daily or thrice daily when needed during the summers....🙂👍

Could you make a video on oncidium seedlings. I am struggling with oncidium starry baby, it has coconut husk around it that I removed when repotting, I may have broken roots while doing so, I think this has set it back quite a bit.

Before using potting media what we should do?
@adyashasorchiddiaries95504 жыл бұрын
Do you mean what we should do with the media?? You can wash it thoroughly...and of u r using rocks and bricks from garden..soak for a few hours then ants and other pests will come out.. additionally u can keep under direct sun for 1-2days that will sterilize media...if really dirty rocks n all then u can soak in chlorine water ,and then after removing keep it in open for atleast 24hrs before using. Moss doesn't require much preparation..just rinse nicely and squeeze out excess water n use🙂👍

These are the rocks we get in aquarium shops...I don't know the exact name .i think u can use laterite rocks as well ..I don't see any problem if u clean them thoroughly before using...I have use cement bricks,normal red bricks also for mounting n my orchids are doing well...

Man when we buy new orchids we should give them treatment or not?, as I have buy their leaves are yellow and having white patch and also some black spots can u suggest something for this
@adyashasorchiddiaries95504 жыл бұрын
All new orhids don't require treatment..sometimes after transport (if u bought online) the plants get stressed out or may aquire infection..if the leave is almost completely yellow then better remove the leaf..spary the plant with hydrogenperoxide and seal the cut ends with cinnamon powder.

Hi I had purchased 3 nos of orchid plants through online 2 oncidium and 1 cattleya. In their website they had stated that plants are in blooming stage. But plants I recieved are small. May be 6 inches. Asking them they're telling its mature plants. Is that ok? Any idea how much time it will take to grow to normal size?
@adyashasorchiddiaries95504 жыл бұрын
Actually some are smaller varieties..they necessarily don't grow very tall..will depend on the individual ID..so they actually may be mature...if they are mature then u may get blooms anytime soon ..if near mature or near blooming size then may be 1-2yrs to bloom.provided all other factors go well🙂
