27:23 Mulch Layer-I started using coco fiber coverings and it is AWESOME!!! I can remove the cover when I need to topdress and when I water, the mat disperses the water as it flows through so the surface doesn't get stirred up. Made them by laying out the mat, stenciling around the pot, cutting out the circle, cut hole in center, and then cut a slit from the outside to the center hole so the coco doughnut can be placed and removed. Topdressing amendments break down much faster being they really never dry out now!!!

Keep it simple is great advice for beginners 👍💛 Keep handy a container of worm castings a bottle of kelp a jar of molasses for the last stage of flower that should be all you need for nutrients and if practical set up a rain barrel for good plant water that is the most you should need to stock for your girls 👍💛

@@CNMedia.Service I am having the same issue, a deficiency is showing (potassium/K) that should be totally fine given the type of soil and amendments I'm using. Blend of Pre-cooked organic living super soil and strawberry fields on bottom third and ocean forest the rest of the pot. They're half or less into veg and shouldn't be showing any K deficiencies... Reason I bring up my similar issue is I hadn't been watering often at all. My plants leaves were as straight as a darn arrow, with zero dropping or any signs of underwatering. Problem seemed to be the soil itself had been dying off due to lack of water. Sometimes up to 5 days or longer I'd go without watering at all with VERY good HVAC/lighting. Were you watering very infrequently as well? With organic? In my case it was the same strain

Not sure why my comments are hidden... sigh, censorship is so crap now. Here's what I found after years of trials... BuildAsoil Craftblend, or BioLive, or Dr. Earth Tomato Homegrown blend which sells at all bigbox stores now. Apply to soil, and make biweekly teas to feed. pH water to 6.2. You're set and it automates itself. Keep the humidity 10 digits below your temperate in F, not C. 80F, 70RH. Then move it down to 70F, 60RH in flower. Simple and proven. Cure at 60F and 60RH. This is really the simplest recipe ive found in 15 years growing commercially mutlilighters. BuildAsoil craft blend, really the only thing a grower needs now, using recharge for your microbes with the biweekly teas I mentioned. Super easy and the most work will be chopping and remaking your soil every grow you restart. Simple as it gets.

Didn't know chlorine that's left in the water kills microbes. !! Little tips like that are everything. Chris, thanks again !
@B01
@B01 3 жыл бұрын
There's some conflicting info out there about it, but general consensus is it's bad. Chloramine is rough but chlorine easy af to get rid of it. Just let it sit out or use air stone if you need it done faster. The downside though is that you'd want to use the water fairly quick as the bad things that are killed off by the chlorine can multiply obviously since there's no more chlorine present. So basically anything introduced to the water afterwards can be bad if it's left out after being dechlorinated
@frederickventer4968
@frederickventer4968 3 жыл бұрын
@@B01 Hopefully continuously providing aeration via air stones would keep the water viable for longer, if within a central storage tank. The movement of the water and bubbles will keep bad microbes out for longer, right?
@B01
@B01 3 жыл бұрын
@@frederickventer4968 continual yeah I'd imagine that absolutely does help, just as a fan helps with fungus gnats/fruit flys etc where it won't allow them to multiply/breed. Won't eliminate them as I think a lot of microbes both good and bad need oxygen so you're actually helping that lol I'm no pathologist/botanist but if we consider what happens in nature, where there isn't any chlorine naturally, plants grow quite well with that water since it all balances each other out in the long run (good/bad bacteria). Think of when you go camping and ppl are like well if you need to drink unfiltered water, make sure it's running water from a stream and not standing water. Same concept lol since we are in full control of indoor grow makes sense we would use the freshest cleanest available

For what it’s worth that R/V filter idea is incredibly efficient if you have a garden hose hook up, or if your faucet does, because most come with an adapter and for the price the amount of gallons you get to scrub before needing to replace them is hard to beat. I started my grow journey buying jugs of water from the grocery store every other week…then weekly as they grew, then you get the R/O and realize for organic gardening it’s awful lol. Back to Tsp that I have to air stone for 24 days prior to and finally I got the filter and can just fill up my buckets and get to gardening!

ppl talking shit about ro systems. simple aquarium 4 step RO costed me in Europe, Poland 25 USD. It leaves the water not completely pure, but still much better than tap - which in my case is 0.3 ec. For homegrown purposes is more then enough

Mr. G! ) i like how your questions broke stuff down and clarified things, step by step. This guest has me reconsidering my future hypothetical grow. I like the idea of using soil and not chemicals. Now, i have another line of thought to obsess over. Thank you!

Always great content! But why would mad hatter not correct the PH? we all know the ph is the most important thing in ‘gardening’
@karl532
@karl532 2 жыл бұрын
If you are growing organically the microbes, if you have a healthy system, and the plant, using its exudates, are able to buffer the pH all on its own. Your plant using its exudates can actual fluctuate the pH depending on what it is trying to eat and the microbes make the nutrients more available at a wider range of pH, there are other factors too.. This among with those other factors make it so the ecosystem does the pH buffering, we are just stewards in this process known as organics.
