I've made this box as well for me! And I recommend that 6mm, for the gap to make the lid! Is is much better. It closes very tight when the two pieces are together

I found this very useful but be sure to watch the video till the end as the thickness and the gap is different for one step and I could not fit the box. My suggestion is to SEE THE WHOLE VIDEO before trying it out. Although that wasn’t correct, the rest of it really helped me as I had to make a box for school and my teacher wanted a lid but I did not have bigger paper to use 😅 tysm for this tutorials and please know that your helping hundreds of people ❤❤❤

Here’s a tip: if you can’t get it perfect just add a dot to the backside and then it will be easier to fold it into the middle finely!

Rough calculations: To make a box of size 5x5 do (4*5)/sqrt(2)=14

What's the dimension of the resulting box? Based on the video I would say 5.25x5.25 cm but I might have miscalculated.
