Back in the day... Which sure wasn't yesterday! lol! we were taught to never sew over pins. I still to this day do not sew over them. And ironing your project after each step was a must also. I is considered the sign of a good seamstress.

Wow, another beautiful project!!!! I love all you do, but would like to see you do some machine applique stitching on your projects. I am bad with hand sewing but not sure how to do different applique stitches with the sewing machine on your projects. Maybe you could walk us through a project doing just that. Using 2 or 3 different stitches. Just an idea! I sure would love to learn that from you.

I know you said each piece was laser cut with heat and bond but I’m wondering about the stitching. Are you basically sewing along a raw edge?

Yes, you are essentially sewing around a raw edge. The laser cut makes the edge very clean so it doesn't fray, but this appliqué is not turned under. - Morgan

Good morning Jen. What is the difference between the applique'pressing sheet and heat and bond (lite). I have never done applique and this year it's going to be one of my projects. I consider myself an advanced beginner quilter (piecing). I started quilting right after I lost my husband. I continue trying to step outside my comfort zone and applique' is definitely one of those steps. Thanks for your time. Loved this project. Karen.

Hello Karen! We're so sorry to hear that you lost your husband. Quilting has been such a comfort to us during difficult times, so we're happy you found it and keep trying new things. Heat N Bond Lite is a fusible product that has glue on both sides. This will adhere your appliqué piece down to your background piece and hold it in place while you secure it with a stitch. The appliqué pressing sheet is a teflon product that will allow you to fuse some of your appliqué pieces to it, but you can peel the glue off of it so you can move your pieces to your fabric background. Hope that helps clear things up. Heat N Bond holds your appliqué pieces together, the Appliqué Pressing Sheet is a tool for fusing them together in smaller units to later be placed on the fabric background. - Morgan
