After installing 30 fittings one afternoon and asking my supplier for a tool - I was shocked to learn there wasn't a tool for this basic mechanical task.
Two years of prototyping and design work and the result is Barb-Tech tool. A portable hose repair tool for push lock style fittings.

Very low volume. I had to turn my amplifier way up just to hear you. People on a phone can't do that. Most listeners will be on a phone.
