thxs for the ideas...I have been trying to figure out a new horizontal deck railing design & I think yours would look pretty coolio. I almost thought about 1x4/1x6 weave but there wouldn't be any wind coming thru the deck, so I might mix it up with your design. CHEERS!

Nice work! I'm going to build a similar screen for a friend in Beaumont. Small world :). Except hers is 20' long. I usually install posts through the inside of the outside joist and fascia board for screens but the method you used would certainly save a bunch of time. I just wonder if it would still be strong over the course of 20'. Hmmmm

Really nice looking privacy wall. I like the design. Much better than the lattice that was there previously. (I just wrote some subtitles for this video and submitted them. KZbin asked if I wanted to do that, so I did.)

What type of wood is the slats and is it treated? Were the treated post wet when u painted them? All the wood in Lowes and HD is wet, ugh.

Nice DeWalt recharger station :-) I can't believe all this work was done with 1.5 battery. However, I am more into network drillers and other machines, maybe not so handy but always ready to go. I like your dog, so funny :-)

@@dpmakestuff This may surprise you, but not everyone owns a circular saw, a powerful enough drill with the right drill bits, speed square, wood clamps, chisel etc. Feel free to mail me your old circular saw now that you've got a brand new one! :) I'll then see if I can get those long posts in my jetta and try your project out.

What is the size of the horizontal slats? did you cut 6" slat to get 4" and 2" or cut 8" slat to get 6" and 2".

It's called Duradek and it's basically heavy duty outdoor linoleum. I don't hate it, but I don't love it. It's really expensive stuff and it was done just before we bought the house so there is no point in replacing it just yet.

Thanks, it looks ok, I think the decking would last a lot longer than it would exposed, but how is it applied? If the glued the whole thing, that will be a nightmare to remove.
