This was exactly what I needed. I'm making a 1930s America style game with a vast steam railroad network, so this is going to come in handy. Thank you

Nice video! Although it is tempting to use the Paint Bucket to change the material of the rails, the better way to do it is to edit the Profile Properties inside the assembly and then re-apply the attributes. Then, the material assignment will be maintained even if you change the assembly settings later :)

I do not miss any of your videos. And seeing that I am from the fairest Cape, I see your videos before your brothers had their first cup. But how many people will use Sketchup for modelling railroad tracks?

How much does the Profile Builder plugin cost? and compatible with SU 2016?
@mind.sight.studios5 жыл бұрын
It is $79 for a permanent license and is compatible with SU2016. We have the BIM Bundle (PB3 + Quantifier Pro) 30% Off during the month of May 2019. Now is the time to check it out :)

Can they be made with a true arc?
@Thesketchupessentials5 жыл бұрын
I don't understand the question - by definition, aren't "true" arcs not possible in SketchUp? They're all made up of segments...

I'm a little surprised that you still have a human character load in your default template, or do you include it only when you record these videos? I mention it simply because it adds to the file size. My own default (bare with no components, materials or any preset geometry weighs in at a lightweight 10.5 KB, but a simple rectangle with just one character component on it, is a portly 79.8 KB Granted, in the grand scheme of things, not really a big deal, but even if you delete that component, it's still merged into the file...until you manually delete from the comp list.

I also do it to easily reference (visually) that I did not mess up my scales.
@ColdCanuck505 жыл бұрын
@@Deontjie A simple 5' x 5' rectangle off of the origin, would do the same, but would be easily deleted and not archived into the active file. If and/or when you delete the component character from the workspace, you have to make sure that you delete it from the list of components as well, or it will still be loaded into your file.

@@ColdCanuck50 I am sure my clients appreciate the model of a pretty girl more than a square box. And I do not to explain the size of that box.
