I love you Ellen so much! Every recipe of yours I’ve tried(which is a lot) I’ve absolutely loved. I’ve just started a soap/ bath body business about 6 months ago and you’ve been my idol/inspiration for my products. I use your recipes tweaked a bit to make it somewhat of my own but it’s because of you I’ve had the confidence and success in every product I’ve made. Good morning Ellen, love those tiny tins and yes castor oil is really good in lip balms. If you want an extra level of moisture ( winter is coming, lol desperate waiting) add some lanolin next time if you are not allergic. It’s just unbeatable . You look gorgeous! Thank you Ellen, have a bless day

First time making lip balm and it turned out great! Managed to get five .15 ounce oval tubes with just a tad left over. Instead of EO I added 4% organic peppermint flavor oil and 1% organic stevia sweetener to test on first batch. Love it! I may increase the peppermint oil and stevia on next batch to make it stronger in flavor and sweetness. Moisturizing and minty feeling! ;)

I've gotten so inspired from Ella's channel. I'm doing gift baskets also with soaps,lotions,balms,beard oil for the guys and charcoal turmeric cleansing soap. I also harvest herbs and make herbal salves for cold sores, eczema, rashes,splinters, and burns to add. I'm so excited to be able to make these baskets. I love that you made a lip balm without coconut oil! Its hard to find anyone that does. I might have to try making this myself since it's hard to find lipbalms I can use being allergic to coconut.

Hi Ellen! Karen here from the British Iles cruise. I always use candillila wax. I find it’s more moisturizing which for me means i only have to apply twice a day. I’m currently on the Alaskan cruise. It’s really beautiful scenery. I’m sure you will love it!

I used candelila wax in lip balm and it’s more firm and resistant to heat, so much so that the formulation needs to be changed from what I did to make it less firm

I was thinking maybe a 50-50 blend of Candelila and beeswax. I think I might give that a try.

Good morning Ellen, I look at each of your recipes, and I am amazed at how beautifully you present them, I respect each of your recipes very much. But unfortunately I am not able to make your recipe as I don't have one of the ingredients, may I know what other butter can be used instead of cocoa butter?I only have shea and mango butter. Can I use mango butter instead of coco butter in the same quantity? Or can I use shea butter instead of cocoa butter? Is there any chance of changing the consistency or firmness of the lip balm if I use shea butter instead of cocoa butter? Please help me to enjoy your lip balm recipe ❤

My best suggestion would be to experiment. Try a very small test batch with your butters and see if you're happy with the results.

Yes, you can add a lip safe mica for color. And you can sub with coconut if desired.
