Here in the Low Carpathians they call this Bear Garlic. It's been out in the lower hills for about 2-3 weeks and the locals use it in salad, boiled like a spinach, or like 'spicy' lettuce on a sandwich. At the moment we are mixing it with hawthorn leaf buds in salads giving a nice bitter, nutty tang. Love the channel, always watch when I'm feeling a bit homesick.

Another cracking video Abbie. I have never used them for pesto but often thought about it. Im out walking 3 or 4 times a week and it is now in season in my area at the moment …..so will give it a try. Keep up the good work all the best from Scotland

We call it ramsløk in Norway. This year we could pick it in late april in middle of the country. Quit early actually. Thanks a lot for your wonderful videos!!

in the US anyway, we normally associate Pesto with basil as the primary ingredient
