ONe feature about X-pac that is rarely mentioned is, that it actually has a sandpaper effect on Merino wool. So if the X-pac is in contact with the merino, it will wear/tear it down over time. Just a note, for those who like merino.

Excellent review as usual! I personally prefer the Flight Pack 3 X-Pac, mainly because of the size and the possibility of carrying horizontally, for business purposes. AER is by far my favorite brand for bags; keep bringing reviews for the X-Pac lineup. All the best!

Seems like a very good alternative to a Peak Design Everyday Bag, as it provides more room and usefulness. Thanks for this first impression video 🙌🏼
@candidobm
@candidobm Жыл бұрын
AER is much better than Peak Design. PD only focuses on photographers, while AER focuses on quality itself, no matter the audience. I had the PD Everyday bag, and the hype on that backpack came from KZbinrs, who are photographers/video makers. The bag brands I really like nowadays are AER and Osprey (hiking).

I like the Aer lunar the most in edc size 18-26l range, but this is a close second, both are good size for personal item on airlines. For normal people who don't want to drop $200 on a backpack, I like the moment mtw and the away far 26l. I can't stand bags without luggage sliders, Aer is the company that puts them on everything.
@Kwisss
@Kwisss Жыл бұрын
Aer Lunar is an underrated pack, its a really nice in between of EDC/small weekender trip. Only thing I wish is if the front pocket was ambidextrous or the side handle/water bottle pocket switched places (though this is me just being right hand dominant).

Said this on another video but wow great improvement from Aer here. So glad they moved to clamshell. I still prefer the overall aesthetic of Goruck especially when it comes to zipper noise. But, if this had come out a few years ago when I was comparing the brands I might have gone with this.
@Youknowthebo

Thanks for the comment. Interesting comparison and train of thought. I love Goruck. But with it's pricing (especiall once you add shipping and custom fees) and the look that doesn't fit all office environments (at least in Germany), I can see that AER would be the better recommendation for some.

Hey Bo, great video as always. Been specifically waiting for your review on this new bag. ;) There are a lot of comparisons between this and the Travel Pack 3 Small where it has a lot more features for only $20 more. Would love to know your thoughts on rocking the TP3S as a daily carry compared to this.
@Youknowthebo
@Youknowthebo Жыл бұрын
Thanks. Yeah the Travel Pack is awesome. However, it is bigger. And for shorter people like I am, this definitely is of importance. 35L looks pretty big on my back. Furthermore, the more capacity the more likely I am to over pack. So 22L for edc is great for my personal usecase

@@Youknowthebo That's understandable and makes sense. I am of the exact same height so this information has been really helpful. :) On other questions - in your own opinion does the CPL24 or City Pack Pro fits better when worn? Nice Bag I like that little Air Tag pocket I use them myself, got one in my Camera backpack, one in my Work backpack (Dakine Campus 25L) on my Key ring and one hidden away on my Bicycle. I went from a peak design every day backpack v2 to this bag. The only thing i miss is the ambidextrous water bottle holders. Im left handed so ive had to adjust grabbing my water bottle. I love the city pack pro except for one thing. The zipper pulls of the main pack can get in the way of accessing the tech organizer section. You have to move them out of the way every time you want to open that pocket. Its annoying enough to be noticeable.

I don't know why Aer is never on my radar (nor is Bellroy, as their bags are too long). Curious - another short person/torso here - do you find the back edge that hits the lower back softer than the EG CPL24. The EG reinforced bottom/frame sheet doesn't like me. Thanks for your thoughtful points. Hope you review the new EG CTB26 (might fit us. Dimensions not that different from CPL24). Cheers.

@Youknowthebo
@Youknowthebo Жыл бұрын
Thanks! It really depends. I think you already have a very good backpack. If it was between the Travel pack 3 (with 35L) and this one (22L), I would say get the City Pack Pro if you are about my height (170cm tall). Because the 22L is much better looking on my small back and not as big for edc. But with the small version of the Travel Pack with 28L there is just a small difference. So I would recommend to look for a different 22L Backpack just to expand your collection opposed to getting almost the same bag

@Bo Ismono I wanted to ask your opinion on the new Aer City Pack Pro. I am buying this bag in the next few days. My question to you is… If you were purchasing this bag, would you purchase the Xpac or 1680D Codura material? I am liking the orange interior along with the aqua guard zips. However I live in south central Texas and we get very little rainfall. Perhaps Xpac is overkill? Just wanted your expert opinion on these materials and which do you think is best. Thank you again for your time and amazing videos.
@Youknowthebo
@Youknowthebo Жыл бұрын
That's a good question. Personally I would go with the xpac just because of the orange inner lining. The silver inner lining is good to find small items, but the orange just gives you a high contrast and looks just unique Imho. That being said, both materials are great. And you can't go wrong with either. It's more or less a matter of taste. And I am all for saving money in this current economy. So my decision would be based on my budget. I hope this helps
