Always thought it would make an awesome painting , to show a mountain man on a regal mule leading two pack up broom tails leaving the timbers. Called traveling up past the timber line.

I was reared in NM and have ridden and hunted a good part of that country especially the Gila. I did my first big primitive ride in the Gila in the early 1980's.

My father started taking me up in the Gila in about 1969.. fell in love .. been working at getting back in the mountains as much as I can ever since ... trying to retire now and spend all my time up in the wild country .. watching your videos now .. Thanks!

So this area is New Mexico? I really love these videos. I learn something new every time I watch them. Keep 'em coming. I wish I were there with you. That sure is some pretty country! What kinda riding saddles are those you use on the mules? Do you ever use your flintlocks to take game while on the trip? I also have a fire pit in my back yard so I can make char cloth.

Wow this is awesome, I've covered most of New Mexico and Arizona, cause my grandparent and dad are apaches, and We live out of this modern world, I will go to this place one day. I would imagine u would know that country pretty good, like I know the desert and mountains there. My grandfathers village still lives there old way, I stay all summer with them

I wish that I could live as my Comanche ancestors had, or my Cherokee ancestors, either way I would be much much happier.

I unfortunately live in the modern word, this I wish I hadn’t, but I have been teaching myself many things, so that in my future I may one day live as my ancestors had
