Thank you for this tutorial. I have very fine hair and getting it to style with any volume is really tough. I can't wait to try this one out!

I'm so glad you found it helpful! For fine hair for any curled style a light backcombing on each curl is helpful in giving a lot of volume! :D

That is adorable! Now all I have to do is get a hair cut so that they can layer my hair and I think I'm going to have to shorten my hair since my hair is below my waist... Wayyyy below. I just love your hair styles and would love to recreate them. I also use Arghan oil and my hair seems to like it so... Thank you for another great video! Can't wait for the next. Love it as usual! You have made it so easy for me to make pinup/rockabilly hairstyles work for every day over the past year. Your minimal fuss 'dos really work for the lazy morning person in me. :) As for a go-to product to revive my hair, I haven't found one I like. My hair is so thick and heavy that the last day before washing it is only survivable with a ponytail.

Ooo I like this and it's pretty easy! I have a 1920's dance at school next week and I'm in charge of 4 people's hair as well as my own! I did a practice yesterday trying to do finger waves with a low updo at the back. And It turned out ok but it took me a while. I won't be able to do wet sets for all of them so I have to use a small curling iron but with that you don't get as much curls o it's hard to shape it into an S! I have a week to perfect it's nd I hope it works!! I'm sorry I haven't been commenting as much lately but I have really enjoyed your past videos! :) :)

YAY!! A couple of months ago I had told you I was a complete and total hair beginner and have been criticized for having "street hair" onstage (I do burlesque) and this looks like something I can do myself. I've had to learn how to handle my hair recently. Since I am biracial I actually have an ethnic hair follicle (learned that from a hairdresser, that I need to treat my hair like ethnic hair). But I've treated my hair my whole life like my Mom treated hers (Mom is white) and that was not the right way of handling it. (I talk too much I know) Anyway, I've found I have to flat iron my hair and use curl taming cream (I cannot do wet sets at all) and flexirods to get a curl that doesn't sit parallel to the ground
@JenniferElise10 жыл бұрын
tee hee...that might have been what gave me the idea! ;D Aw....that sucks that you get flack for having street hair. sigh. So you have to unlearn everything you used to do...we usually do learn from our Mother's our beauty know how. I would also check out kzbin.info she does some amazing hair tutorials for ethnic hair...I wish she would make more! lol

I'm just now going vintage and your videos are great. Would any hot rollers work or is there a certain kind I should buy?
@JenniferElise9 жыл бұрын
+Jenny Croucher If your hair takes curl well and you don't live in a humid environment hot rollers should work. I've done them for some styles and it'll last on non-humid days almost the entire day. I like the Jilbere brand, just try to get one with a lot of small rollers. :D
@aprincesspanda10 жыл бұрын
This would be totally possible to do with pin curls too. Though, that might actually be harder for a beginner. They're a very economical option to start out with, though, because you only need the pins.
@JenniferElise10 жыл бұрын
It would indeed...the curls will be tighter though. :D
@aprincesspanda10 жыл бұрын
Hmm, maybe. I sometimes do my elevated pin curls around two fingers in thicker sections and they come out very smooth and loose.

Love your hair, I don't know maybe you answered this already but, what color do you use? I have dark hair and I am so tired of being dark brown and I just love your haircolor. Bleach does scare me though
@JenniferElise10 жыл бұрын
I use Manic Panic's hot hot pink. I did have to bleach the hair to get the bright color though. I was really scared of bleach as well and things have gone well, but I only go through the bleach process once. I would say if you're considering it go to a hair salon for at least the first time. :D

Hey Jen! I was wondering if you could recreate a look from this Season of Downton Abbey, it's when Lady Edith has a scarf in her hair but the scarf is like weaved into her hair? I think it was in one of the earlier episodes but I absolutely loved it and was wondering if you knew how to recreate that look or something similar to it? If you could that would be amazing but if not that's okay! Thanks :)

I've done a whole Downton series so I'm not sure I'll be re-visiting it anytime soonish...but in the meantime I did something a bit similar with a style from The Great Gatsby that you can check out Myrtle Wilson (Isla Fisher) Great Gatsby Inspired Vintage Hair Tutorial - The 1920s

This is really cute .I don't have very much luck with hot rollers. I wish they worked better for me , because they seem so handy , but my hair just will not hold curl with out a wet set :( I'm going to get some argan oil , and give it a try . As of right now , all I use is pomade , but my hair isn't very shiny , and I want to try and get more shine , so I'm hoping that will help . Thanks for the video :)

This is a great and easy hairstyle for my Monday-Friday. I like to use either Not Your Mother's Sea Salt Spray and Organix Argan Oil to give my hair life on that last day. The spray revives my curls and the oil tames the frizz and helps polish the ends.
