I like it too! I looked at so many of them and this one has a lot of useful info in one wheel

Love your pink quilt! And, you are lucky to be able to look so pretty in lime green! Thanks for showing the color wheel.

Thank you so much!!! For both compliments! I watched some videos on figuring out your "season" and decided I'm a cool summer. I found a printout with the colors best for that season, and I've been buying anything new I get in those colors. Some of the choices seem really odd, but they do seem to work. I already had this shirt from years ago, and it fits my color palette. I prefer gold and warmer tones but they don't suit me as well as cooler tones do. Especially now with my gray hair. My hair used to be almost black, so I was a totally different season as a younger person.

Didn’t realize how much I need a color wheel in my life!!! I’ll be getting me one ASAP 🥳. I love pinks and shop the same way you do. I look for what I use, on sale, pick that up and if it’s not on sale, will just wait until I can get a deal. Very nice quilt and 🙏🏻 for your mom.

I'm really glad that color wheel demo helped! It's a good way to pick out your color ideas if you are making something different from a specified pattern. This one is a great one to start with because you can pick a range of color values and play within that range. The best advice I can give, is to trust the process. Yeah the sale prices are more and more important these days. I did pick up quilt batting to put away for later and last night got a great deal on Olfa blades to put away. These things will all last me a good while, so I purchase items like that to store for later. And thank you, it's been a really difficult weekend for mom and I'm totally worn out.

My daughter loves pink. I made her a pink rag quilt for her dorm room. This would be a perfect quilt for her first home when that time comes.

I made a variation of this with the square blocks only one on either other end to offset the seams. It was called the brick wall quilt and you're right, they are the fastest quilts ever, but so pretty! I still love to look at mine.

I don't know how the prices of batting compare, but have you looked into Quilter's Dream batting that is made in Virginia Beach and the fibers are grown by American farmers? Your quilt is beautiful. You did a really nice job on it. Thank you.❤

That's a great tip actually! I had forgotten about them. I'll look more closely into them. I just have a tendency to buy from Joann on sale and using using coupons. Actually, they sent me a 25% off total order and I'm probably going to break my no spend rule because the price on the Pellon is just too good for me to pass up. And thank you!! I love this project! I was so easy but it's also so pretty.

Good morning, Patty thank you so much for giving me the insipiration to make my First Quilt. I love watching your detailed and fun videos. I have a Singer Brillance 6180 Hmm sound familiar, can you give me your expertise on what needle size needle i should use when I begin sandwiching my cotton topper, 80/20 batting, cotton backing? Also should i add 4" to each side of the quilt? Thank you so much for all that you do for us all.
@PattymacMakes8 ай бұрын
I"m so happy to hear this!! I use the same needle to do the quilting that I piece on. I would not worry about adding any border to this. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine! I absolutely LOVE mine! It's on my bed right now. Thank you for watching and for trying something new! This is such a great first quilt!

What is the name of the store you ordered the batting from?
@PattymacMakes8 ай бұрын
I always get it from Joann on sale. It's the Pellon double packs of 80/20 cotton batting in queen sizes. Last time I bought it, which was last month I bought two packs, so a set of 4 and they ran about $16 a package. Which is pretty good. I also like the Warm White batting a LOT but the Pellon is cheaper and I wanted a few packages put away for later.

Hi Patti. Been thinking about you and your mom, how are things going ?
@PattymacMakes9 ай бұрын
Thank you Susan! It's not going very well and I'm quagmired with paper work and getting things in place so I'm not scrambling when the time comes. I'm completely exhausted and just doing my best to get through each day. Mom's spirits are pretty good but her body is starting to fail, so it's been a rough ride over here. I'm just doing my best to take care of her without doing serious injury to my back. It's a lot to think about and planning for what I'm going to do when I'm alone.
