I too have trouble with directions; so your idea to rewrite it for yourself is a good idea.

Sometimes, it's just easier to put things in your own words! I generally rework patterns to cut on whole or half sizes because I think cutting 7/8s inch measurements is REALLY hard! So I round up to the nearest inch. Then trim back to the correct finished size.

Thanks for sharing the disaster; it happens to us all, and it's good to look back and laugh. Just a few tips, the bottom of the cake pan pushes out so it's easier to get the cake out. Push the cake up on the center of the pan and it makes a little base to move the cake, right way up, on to a plate. I've made these without substitutions and without doubling the butter and they turn out ok. Not the most amazing cake but it hits the spot when you don't want to make a big cake and it tastes better than the scary unrefrigerated cakes at the bakery.

Thank you, I'll give that tip a try next time!

Thank you for #10. I am slowly getting my supplies to make a quilt on my own. I really want to enjoy it and not hold myself to strict timelines or rules, but just have fun learning a new skill. :)

I love the braids, and would love to make the bag, but couldn't find the link to the pattern. Thank You for sharing your time, and your talent with all of us.

I sort of improved it from a video I watched so there's no written instructions. I made 6 panels and joined 3 for each side of the outer panel. Then I just made a standard tote bag.

Hi Patty, just wondering how you are and how your Christmas was. It’s Sarah in England and i have been thinking of you over this festive period.
@PattymacMakes4 күн бұрын
Hi Sarah. I'm getting along ok. Momma died on the 21st so it's been pretty difficult through out the whole fall and Christmas season. I'm getting all her notifications out so I don't have too much of an accounting mess to sort out in the new year. But I'm thankfully on the downside of all the the excess stuff that's been going all this year. I'll have to do tax returns for 3 people who died this year, and that's certainly a first for me.

@@PattymacMakes hi Patty. I’m so sorry to hear that your momma passed away. You mentioned her often in your videos and i send you my heartfelt condolences. It has been a truly stressful and heart breaking year for you. I can only hope that you get some calmness and peace in 2025. My 88 yr old mother has been in hospital all over Christmas but thankfully she is now on the road to recovery.. keep well and know that you are in my thoughts, Sarah

Oh thanks!! That's a singer iron and you may still be able to find one. I've switched to the more expensive Reliable brand, and it's a wonderful iron! I love making my pillowcases this way! I hope you'll give it a try.

Where do you get bobbin case...missing it

you can search by your model and see what comes up. Generally a sew/vac type store will have the supplies you need. You can always try Amazon. If you have a newer machine, it will be easier to find.
