What I did is went backwards to the v stitch that you have done last and start there . But your idea is GREAT

When you change rows into the "V" stitch you don't have to slip stitch away. Begin your v stitch right there where you ended the previous row. It really doesn't show if it feels wonky, the shell stitch will co er it anyway. Does that make sense? KZbin's Joanna Martinez shows this technique on her video.

Because it's really obvious on the front. Try it and you will see what I am speaking of. You might not mind it, for me it's an eye sore.
