THANK YOU for making this video. You just saved our couches! I followed your directions and I believe we will get a couple more years of wear out of our sectional couch before having to replace it. Yay!

I appreciate being able to see the behind the scenes of how the different parts of cushions are placed and the types of materials used and how you took time to show how to take off the outside where the wood & metal rods meet. I didn’t realize that there would be zippers in this Love Seat. Have you ever replaced springs on a couch Sir? I have say this the first time I’ve seen the inside of a Leather Couch. Thank you for sharing how the pros work! I love your videos! There very diversified👍👍👍❣️

Hi Scott, Thank you very much for your video. Funny enough we have got the same sofa but I got a different problem. My puppy ripped the seating area up and the arms. Would you be able to demonstrate how to upholster / repair it with a similar fabric which matches the existing one? Many thanks. P. x

Fix it for absolutely free!: Fix trick for car seats: Often used car seats upholstery is still good but the supporting foam is worn down-especially the driver’s seat. Get some used carpet sheet foam(often your neighbor has some in the trash or in the trash behind a carpet store): Unbolt the seat and peel off the fabric from the seat by removing the bottom retainers (usually plastic J channels) to gain some access under the foam sear core. Add 1 or 2 sheets of foam under the foam core between the core and the seat bottom(1 sheet for the entire seat area and 1 small sheet for the butt area often is what’s needed for the drivers seat). Use mallet to reattach fabric plastic retaining edges onto seat metal frame. The seat will be amazingly plump and firm again just like new! The seat backs do not need any foam since they don’t get worn from the full body weight pushing down like the seat does. This trick SOFAS!: works great for home furniture such as sofas: for seat cushions with zippers: carefully unzip also peel off the fabric from the foam core, use a loose hack saw blade in hand and cut through from the back of foam block making it like 2 sandwich buns except stop before cutting through the front so that there is a solid foam hinge at the front. Now cut and add carpet foam sheet or two or three laid into the middle of the sandwich. While holding and compressing the sandwich foam buns back together, carefully and patiently roll fabric case back over foam and zipper shut. The effect will be Dramatic, like new! Often people think the sofa springs are sagging when aged but it’s the weak foam that takes all the direct weight and it just needs more added to bring it back to new specs!

Hello sir thank you for the video it was very helpful. I had a question, the green strapping that was inside. Is that similar to something like old school lawn chair webbing? Also what do you use for a stapler as i had been trying with a manual stapler but the wood is very hard and most staples just slightly go in and then bend. I do have a compressor so my next thought would be to get an air nailer/stapler if that is what you recommend. I just wasn't sure if I was using wrong staples or technique with the manual stapler. Thank you again for all the help.
@Factorydirectdesignersworkroom5 жыл бұрын
Hi! The strapping is called jute webbing and used in many upholstery shops, you may be able to order some off of ebay. Definitely will need an air stapler and tank! Look for a stapler that works with either a 3/8" or 1/2" crown staples and good luck!

Scott, I just subscribed to you page. This video is awesome but I have a question about the seat cushion on my love seat recliner. I purchased an Ashley love seat (cheep) and the seat cushions went flat in three years. The seat cushion is one piece from the seat to the foot rest. Not only has it gone flat but it has also pulled away from the foot rest to where there is no cushion covering the wood frame. Do you have a video or any advice for removing and replacing this cushion. Thanks, Tom
