My mouth is watering just watching this video. I've cooked steak but I have a bad habit of over-cooking them for what we like. I have tried the touch test but it just doesn't work for me. I think I really need to invest in some good thermometers. I really love your step-by-step directions on your videos. I've been cooking for years but with your channel, I am always learning something new. I don't cook as much as I used to but watching your videos has really made me want to get back in the kitchen. Of course, being the holidays I am in there more than normal but I am slowly finding my enjoyment again. Thank you Zach and God bless you.

Another awesome dish. I wish I could cook a good stake because I love to eat it. Only mine is always tough. ❤ Bates Kitchen
@Thebateskitchen3 күн бұрын
A few things that majorly affect toughness in my limited experience, the quality of the meat, and the cooking temp and technique! If you get a decent ribeye (I recommend at least USDA choice), NY strip, or tenderloin (filet) and really pay attention to temp, using this technique, your steak will probably turn out better than any steak you have eaten at a steakhouse!!! If you really want to up the ante, once you are comfortable with the technique find a butcher that carries USDA prime meats and try it with those! You might be surprised!

@Thebateskitchen2 күн бұрын
The inside is what really matters! But yes, heritage steel has a stainless steel cleaning powder that works amazing with steel wool! I’m sure other brands make similar products as well! There is a discount link that helps support this channel as well as saving you some money if you use the linktree on my instagram though!
