How does the Old Bay get to the meat through the shell?
@doingthingswithedubb5428 Жыл бұрын
Trust me from the amount of steam heating them up that won't be a problem because the old bay will be stuck to your fingers once you start eating. I wouldn't advise adding any old bay after they are done steaming unless you really love the taste of that seasoning!

How is this seasoning to get through all that shell. Me, I prefer the natural flavor of the snow crab not buried under all that extra seasoning. Just my preference. To each their own. Just keep in mind when you buy them from your local grocery store that they already come precooked.
@doingthingswithedubb5428 Жыл бұрын
In the south we like a lot of seasoning and old bay is the OG for crab legs in south, but everyone is different and some like them plain as well . This applies to all food ,as for pre cooked I usually don't go that route I rather cook them alive but they are hard to find for good price

Sometimes I do the same thing and forget to buy some specific seasoning, but luckily, it's usually stuff you have on hand anyways. If you don't have all of it, you can make substitutions or leave some stuff out too. These are the ingredients in Old Bay seasoning though. Just adjust to the amount you need, but keep the proportions kind of the same, adjusted for taste ^~^ Also, seasoning salt has a lot of those things already in it too, so if you have it on hand, just look at the ingredient list and see what your brand already has, and you can use that in place of some of the stuff (not all of them have the same ingredients) 2 tablespoons celery salt 1/4 teaspoon paprika 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper 1 pinch dry mustard 1 pinch ground nutmeg 1 pinch ground cinnamon 1 pinch ground cardamom 1 pinch ground allspice 1 pinch ground cloves 1 pinch ground ginger
