Thanks man! So I have 2 computers I work off of. My laptop has 32 gb of ram (soon to be 64) An Rtx quadro 5000 and an i7 - 9570H processor. My desktop has 48 gb of ram, an RTX 2080ti and a AMD Ryzen 2700x The minimum specs for Resolve are 16gb of ram, at least 2gb of V-Ram (Graphics card)

Hey Billy thanks for the tutorial, but technically that is not a strobe effect. A strobe effect would infer a freeze frame on every so many frames for a few frames. Think of what action looks like under a strobe light looks like. What you show here is just quick flash edits with no freeze... not a strobe effect ... not the same thing.

Wondering if you can point me in the right direction here! I'm wanting to create a 2.5d displacement effect typically done in after effetcs where a displacement map appears to make a head move from a still picture. Unless there is a more realistic way in DR to do this and actually make a 3d head to move in a photo, do you know how to achieve this? -Also, i'm looking to see how I can simulate the light from a candle flame that will affect a phot of someone behind a birthday cake. Another way of doing this is by using an Adjustment Clip and go to the Fusion page. Merge a black Background over the Media In node. Make two keyframes in the Blend area in the Merge node, open up the Spline view and set keyframes to repeat. For the other clip just attach a Brightness Contrast node after Media In node. Adjust the brightness between 1 and 0 to strobe that clip.
