This is such a lovely pleasant tune. Having a great time learning and practicing enough to play it in time. I wanted to let you know i'm a newer fan of less than a year now, but am completely blown away at the work you've put out there for folks like myself. Your tutorials are a gold mine of incredible insight on learning the blues harp. Recently saw you perform a cover of lou reed on youtube and was floored by how your singing and playing reach the soul, and for even just a moment, there is no pain, worry or sorrow in my world. We hold you in the highest regard, shoulder to shoulder with Little Walter, Paul Butterfield and the rest of the who's who. Million thanks.

Well shucks Indoh. Thank you so so very much for taking the time to write that. It's really easy for me to get lost in my daily responsibilities and forget or ignore the potential positive impact the work actually can have so thank you for reminding me and thank you for your kind words. I truly hope you stay and continue to come back to these videos and others I need each of you as much as you need me. ❤️

Thank you again for free Fridays Jason. You are the golden God of mooncats and I really appreciate all the love you put out there for us newbies there’s nothing else interesting at a low level out there that’s musical but easy to play and teaches you to groove. Plus your joy for the instrument and kindness shines through.

Hi Jason. Love the lesson. Is the lick over 4 beats and the vamp is also over 4 beat? Does the lick play first note over Beats 1, 2, and 3 and the second note is on the off beat between beats 3 and 4 and then the third note over the 4th beat?

Just continuing in the same vein: the vamp is 2D-2B-2D-1D-2B-1D (which is a I-VI-I-V-VI-V) for the I chord; in the improv you also play 2D'' instead of 2D which is the bVII, and sounds bluesy (as it's supposed to with a bVII :) the exact same vamp for the IV chord would be: 4B-3D''-4B-2D-3d''-2D (optional 3D' instead of 4B, but harder to nail) then, for the V chord the vamp would be: 4d-3D-4D-3D''-3D-3d'' (not sure about the bVII for this one) so the whole thing is: the lick: III-II-I; the vamp: I-VI-I-V-VI-V for the whole I-IV-V progression here you go: i just wrote (sorry, an overstatement, plagiarised..) another progression; going to call it "Jason-ology" if anyone spots any inaccuracies in it please shout! thank you
@adriancodrea26842 ай бұрын
in the I chord is the 3D'' the 2 of I Jason? (and 4D the 2 of IV and 2B the 2 of V)? thanks
