My oven has been out of commission for the past 6 weeks. I was flipping out as we got closer to Thanksgiving… it’s the first time in our 25 years of marriage that I have volunteered to do all of the turkey and ham for his family (30+). One evening, in a stroke of brilliance (totally the Lord), it occurred to me that I could use my crockpot to roast the turkeys. I had never done it before, so I was pretty nervous with the first one. I started last Friday, brining one breast for 24 hrs, then roasting the next day, etc, etc I monitored the inner temperature very closely, which was key…Cooled/sliced/stuck in freezer immediately with all juices. I will pull them out, defrost and warm them up in my MIL’s oven before our gathering. It’s hands-down the BEST turkey I’ve ever eaten. Family agrees!!! Thank you Lord, for the real-time help You give Your children. I told my husband last night that I actually think it’s been a blessing to not have a working oven. I would have never discovered this method. It will be how I do thanksgiving from now on! Thanks for your helpful and beautiful videos Stephanie. I enjoy them so much! Blessings, Everyone!

I am so very excited! I make my stuffing, sweet potato casserole and candied pecans the same way you do. It was my mom's stuffing as well. I use a large rectangular baking pan for my sweet potato casserole and do half with the pecans and the other half with marshmallows as half family likes one and the other half the other. These are my faves on my Thanksgiving table. Enjoy and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your beautiful family. God bless all! 🧡🦃

a little butter/brown sugared pecans with mini marshmallows (fully covering the all of the nut mixture) and toasted perfectly on top. Toasting the marshmallows is the very last thing I do. Its the last dish I bring to the table and everyone ooo's and awwws over how its lovely puffy and golden...smells amazing and the kids love seeing it right out of the oven while everyone is starting to begin.

My favorite Thanksgiving side dish is a Cranberry Relish or Salad. Made with fresh cranberries, a whole orange, peel and all, sugar, cherry Jello and pecans. If I had to pick only one thing to eat on Thanksgiving, it would be this dish! Your dishes, though so different from our Southern traditional dishes, looked so good! The salad looked like a breath of fresh air from the very rich offerings on most Thanksgiving tables. 😍

I want to share a tip.... Bake the sweet potatoes in the oven vs. boiling them. That not only gives much better flavor, the potatoes won't have all that water soaked into them and gives you much better texture to the casserole. Wishing you and your family a very Happy Thanksgiving!!

You're always so busy and industrious, visibly striving for Proverbs 31:10 👏🏻 I have a question (and definitely mean no disrespect) watching from Australia here and we don't really ever have anything pumpkin flavoured when it comes to desserts. I don't think I've ever tried a pumpkin pie or "pumpkin spice" beverage / sweet.... so that being said.... what is the sweet potato dish? Is it like mash potatoes but with topping? Is it meant to be a dessert? You totally totally threw me when you said "are you a marshmallow girl" do you eat marshmallows with your savoury meals? I'm so confused 😂 The differences in food culture always fascinates me! 🧡
