I dont have lifting with my hard gel nails but I have lifting with acrylic. I do prep exactly the same. I dont know what I'm doing wrong. I was told if you lay the acrylic too dry it can cause lifting so I use it pretty wet. Could that be the source of my problem?

Your consistency could be part of the challenge. You do want to use your product a little on the wetter side (rather than dry) but if it’s too wet, it may flow into the cuticle and that could also cause lifting. You want the consistency to be wet enough so it will flow and self level, but you need to control where it flows by moving the finger or moving the product with your brush.
