Great tutorial, thanks Paul! As a user of both Captivate and Articulate (where I believe you have seen the flip action), it's always great to see how to create that enhancement in the other platform.

Hello Paul! I'm trying to achieve this, but when I go to save the action it changes "Go to the next state" to "Continue", can you help me with this? Thanks for your help!
@CaptivateTeacher

Actions in Advanced Actions convert to the Continue action when you delete the object or the state in question. Check that you still have the object in question.

@@CaptivateTeacher Thanks for your answer! In reality, what happens is that in classic you have to choose between two states. I would like to ask you if you have a tutorial on how to make a button that blinks permanently? Thanks again!
@CaptivateTeacher
@CaptivateTeacher 5 ай бұрын
I don't have such a video. If you want to have a permanent animation you would likely need to build something in animate and import it in as a web object. Not sure how you would make it button though.

You can place these on top of any slide but personally not a fan of using imported PowerPoint slides. The best of examples of eLearning are not imported PowerPoint slides (death by powerpoint).

Hi Paul, Your flip card idea is really excellent and I have used it again today in a blank project. However, I came across an issue when publishing the project - if I don't choose 'Scalable HTML content' all seems well when I view the project in a browser, in particular the slide containing the flip card objects. However, if I do choose the 'Scalable HTML content' option when publishing and I view the flip card slide in a browser (scaled to full screen), the text on the flip side of each flip object sometimes distorts? Have you come across this? Cheers, John

@@johnleggett5054 There must be something unique about your situation. After reading your second comment I got worried as I'm including this in my project for DevLearn. I published with HTML scaling but mine looks great. The amount of text you place on the 'clicked' state is something to consider or perhaps the font you've selcted but other than that it should convert to an image on publication anyway. I'm sorry I'm at a loss. You could reach out to Adobe and see if they can troubleshoot the problem with you. I would but I cannot replicate the problem.

Hi Paul, thank you I have used this flip card action. It worked perfectly! However has used this again in a new module and the second set of flip cards page will not load. We have checked the advanced action, naming style, multi state names and protocols, timing, page properties and nothing works. When we test in separate documents they work perfectly. Could you advise. Thanks so much!

What is the difference of having it be an 'execute shared action' vs. 'execute advanced action?'
@CaptivateTeacher
@CaptivateTeacher 3 жыл бұрын
A shared action is a way of saving an Advanced Action to use on different objects and variables. It essentially creates a fill-in-the-blank Advanced Action where you point to the different objects you want to run the advanced actions on. It saves time and resources. It also makes it easy to duplicate without having to worry about editing Advanced Actions as you can see in the video.

I cannot make it work. When I click the card collapses and does not show the other side. I wrote the advanced action exactly as you did. Saved it and saved as a shared action. The card simply collapses and does not show the other side. I created the duplicate State "clicked". I have an "F" on the front and a "B" on the back of the card. Cannot figure out where I missed something.

Create the TTS audio first. Play it back as your record the actions on screen then click the audio button in the properties inspector when you have finished the recording to add the TTS recording after the screen recording is complete. Again, I would probably not use TTS for Video Demo. Instead I would do this with Camtasia or just use my own voice as I record the steps.
