I cannot figure out how to put the sewing foot down. (the one by the needle). Where is that?

My mom gave me that same machine. I've got it threaded and did some practice stitches. But when Im done I have to cut the thread with scissors because I can't find the thread cutter. It says there is one in the user manual, but I'm struggling so much.

Most older or less expensive machines have built-in thread cutters on the top left side of the machine. It’s a piece of metal. Just bring the excess thread up and to the left, through the slot, then pull towards you to cut. Or you can always use scissors. This model does have a needle threader, which she did not show.

My mom purchased this machine years ago for about $125 from Costco.
