I guess it was the pigment I used. I just made some dark walnut charcuterie boards for my channel and I couldn't get the white to cell!! I guess it was the type of epoxy pigment and I knew I could get it with white spray paint but I wanted it to be safe for eating off of and I didn't know If I would do a clear layer or not. Thanks for the info and nice work.

This is beautiful! I'm wondering about preparing the board before paint and resin. I have purchased a couple different boards in stores. How do I know if they're sealed or not? One is made of bamboo. I will be painting before adding resin, though. Is the paint alone going to seal the board?
@TamsCreativeCorner

Hi Linda! It’s usually obvious if they are sealed and will have a smooth often sheen to them. It’s really hard to know without handling it for myself though. Paint will probably do the trick. Thank you for watching and have fun creating your art!

Thanks for the video Tammy, I will be trying resin for the first time and have ordered some supplies through your link. I do have a question though, is the resin used on the cheese board safe to use for food? Hi there! I love this tutorial! One question….I bought a charcuterie board from a store. Do I still need to seal it? TIA
@TamsCreativeCorner
@TamsCreativeCorner 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Rhonda! Thank you so much for the kind words! It really depends on how porous the wood is?! Many store bought pieces, from my experience are already sealed. Keep in my if you paint it first that would help seal it and even the resin will seal it, although if it’s porous and causes air bubbles you may need to sand and do a second layer of resin over the first. Hope this helps and happy creating!
