DIY….Expand to see links to materials. This video shows you a way to make a moon for halloween displays or a wall decoration. It’s pretty easy to make with materials from Amazon/Home Depot/Lowes. The two foot version of this that I made in the video cost about $50 to make and is very lightweight.
Materials
1. String lights, I used these from Amazon. The ones I used cost $25 for two sets of lights. You can but a single set of lights for about $13. There are other types that are cheaper. www.amazon.com... You can buy different lengths of lights depending on the size of the moon you make. I like the color changing string lights. If you are using the moon outside make sure you get string lights that are waterproof. If you make a really large moon you might want to use 2 sets of lights. You can also get string lights that have plugs or are usb powered.
2. Base for the moon. Some possibilities are:
A. hot water drip pan from Home Depot that comes in different sizes 20-30 inches. A 26 inch pan can be used to make a 26 inch moon and costs under $13. www.homedepot....
B. A 46 inch hard plastic kiddie pool might work if you want to make a larger moon. www.acehardwar...
3. Something to cover the open side of the moon that will let the light through while diffusing it at the same time. Lowes and Home Depot have a selection of product you can use. For this project I used Plaskolite. Home Depot calls it Coroplast. Lowes had it in 30x36 inch sheets for $12 and Home Depot had 4 ft x 8 ft sheets for $30. www.lowes.com/...

There are other products in the same area of the stores that might work better, but are significantly more money or take special tools to cut.
4. A shower curtain with a picture of a moon on it. The shower curtain was an idea I saw in a video from Make • How To Make Giant DIY ... . It’s a simple but great idea for the project. Here is the shower curtain I used. www.amazon.com....
5. Hot glue and glue gun.
6. Gorilla tape.
7. Drill and eye bolt hooks if using outside.
8. Scissors, shears or oscillating saw.
