If you don't like the satin of the stone gray spray you could probably spray some matte varnish over it. I want to make one of these, so some good tips in here. I've used those small plastic skulls before. I used them for embedding in foam gravestones, and for making the tops spooky fence posts. They're pretty easy to cut and work with.

Good tip! Yes the skulls were awesome to work with

Great video and concept! I'll be trying to recreate this project for this Halloween. Can you include the dimensions of the crypt design?

I dont have it. Did I not include the size in the video?! If not I apologize. Its about 5-6’ long and 2-3’ wide

Pink foam is carvable with a dremel. Try an ultrasonic mister coupled with a fogger. No ice needed. Same if not better effect. Also, 1-1-1 of glycerin, propylene glycol and distilled water…super thick. Not to be used for a fog curtain that people walk through though: PG isn’t that good to breathe.

I dont get that into it. I just use store bought. It is usually in the 40’s for us at halloween so getting itncolder than the air is hard.

@ It’s all about density. Cold air sinks. Heavy air sinks. Water sinks. Propylene glycol (Walmart) absorbs water. Glycerin makes the fog whiter. You could even skip the chiller as long as you’re putting out dense, moist air. Just a thought. Happy haunts!

A dummy question but what would the difference in effect be without chillbox compared to your setup?
@AllHomeDIYDad3 ай бұрын
Hi! Great question. So it all depends on the weather. Its usually cold around halloween where I live in MN. So the chillbox doesnt have as big of an effect because it hard to get the fog cooler than the air temp when it comes out of a heated up machine. But its suppose to lay lower to the ground and not dissipate so quickly when it is chilled. Better effect. More spooky. More fun. The warmer it is outside the better the chiller will work. With no chiller it will still look cool but the fog will rise up and disappear faster as it will be warmer than the air. Hope that helps

Thanks for your quick answer. I will definitely try and build a version of this! I guess you dont put the smoke/fog machine inside the coffin because of heat/fire safety? My problem is that here we usually have like 45 F and rain... Maybe put the smoke machine under a roof and use a long pipe to the coffin?
@AllHomeDIYDad3 ай бұрын
@@chra186 yes I have same issue. I put it behind the coffin and put a little cover over it in case of rain. You could run a pipe but its not as effective with the fan pushing the fog and air through that pipe to the coffin. Wont come out as strong
