Hello. I believe that the radios use their own protocol. To upgrade simply change the transmitter together with a suitable receiver.

BJ forgot to show us the manual. What is the fuselage and wings made of?

Oh yes! Sorry, I forgot completely. The fuse and wings are made of EPO foam. Very tough and repairable with regular superglue/CA.
