A fat free biscuit recipe is just what I've been waiting for. Thank you!
@kiwifeijoa10 күн бұрын
They're whole food but not fat free, there's a cup of almond flour in there. If you replaced the almond flour with regular flour they'd still rise, but probably wouldn't be 'biscuity' as she describes it, more like scones. Hope that's helpful.

Yum! I am originally from New York but have been living in North Carolina for over 20 years now and I do like a biscuit. I am definitely going to try this. I know that your ancestors are rolling over in their grave with this very untraditional recipe.😂 It is the same when I try to explain to my New York Italian family that I am making ricotta out of tofu.

Was already in the kitchen and threw these together in about 10 mins! 😅 they came out great! And I threw some marinated tempeh in the airfryer to have them as sandwiches. Ended up with a dozen.
@Maria-yf8fp11 күн бұрын
I'm not good at Tempe yet, how do you marinate it?
@jaminwaite386711 күн бұрын
@@Maria-yf8fp my mom said she used the carrot bacon marinade from tabitha brown. Just let it set in the fridge for a few hours then crisped up in the airfryer
@jilldigwood432811 күн бұрын
@@Maria-yf8fpI f you boil/steam the tempeh first for about 10mins it can take away a bit of the bitter taste. Then go on to marinade it, soy sauce and maple syrup is a good simple one. You can add in your favourite things such as onion, garlic powder etc or smoked paprika. Hope this helps 😊

I'm so glad they turned out so well! You made a great call with the tempeh, too! 😋

They look great Lily, I am British and think they would be like our scones. Will definitely be making them, thanks for sharing. Hope you are feeling well 😊 Much love from Spain ❤️
@chickpeachick11 күн бұрын
I was thinking they resembled scones as I was making them!! I may try to do a flavored version one day, like blueberry or cranberry orange…hmm. Thanks for tuning in from Spain! 💕😊

I've made a similar scone recipe in the past. I use vegan yogurt instead of dairy and egg.

These look really good, the flecks of orange look fine! Maybe put the turmeric in the plant milk, it might dissolve? Always am amazed by Nora's creativeness as a vegan cook, glad you said where the recipe was from. You made this look easy, after this am going to look up more of your recipes.

Love the the channel. Great 👍 vibe. All purpose flour is not a whole ingredient so therefore the recipe is not wfpb, it’s plant based which is still good 👍

I think the only plant milk that won't sour into buttermilk (w the addition of vinegar or fresh lemon juice, of course) is rice milk.

I'm really trying to not use white flour. So I've gotten into white whole wheat (King Arthur has one). It's the whole food version using a "whiter" variety of wheat. So it still has the nutritional and fiber benefits of whole grain wheat, but is much lighter. I'm going to try this recipe with that flour. I don't have a rolling pin (not really a baker) so could I pat the dough out to 2" using my hands, or make them as drop biscuits?
@christiedecker272410 күн бұрын
Yes, you can. If you want to roll something, you can use a glass or even a bottle as a rolling pin. Blessings!
