I tried making tempeh using another "famous" KZbinr's recipe and I couldn't eat it. It was disgusting. I was so disappointed. But when I saw your video, I decided to try again. Tempeh (템페) 는 콩의 texture가 아직 살아있어요! 두부처럼 부드럽지는 않고, 청국장 (??) 같이 콩알들이 보여요!! 콩을 으깨서 쓰는게 아니고 통채로 들어가거든요. Indonesia 식재료이고, Malaysia 같은 동남아시아 전통 음식들에 많이 들어가요. 요즘에는 영국, 미국, 다른 유럽 나라에서도 vegan 식재료로 인기가 많아요 ^^

tempeh is fermented whole soy bean, very different than tofu. It has a fermented flavor and it's much denser. It's in the same section as the tofu

Canola or vegetable oil would be the best subs, just a neutral flavoured oil with a decently high smoke point!
