I was told to hold the brush like a violin bow with all the fingers along one side of the handle, and the thumb on the other side, then you can use cheaper NOT paper

what? thats crazy still not as good as arches for lightfastness and acid free but then again your not saving them forever or maybe you are?

I don't know whether they get saved forever. I paint birthday cards! The technique is good for the glittering of sunlight on water. I usually use Bockingford. I've got Arches, but I've not plucked up the courage to try it yet.@@ellencrimitrent
