Thank you! You're absolutely right about the more you try the better you get! I never thought I could draw a stick figure much less something beautiful especially since I have essential tremor which makes your hand shake, but here's the miracle...the more I draw, the better it gets and it's actually helping my tremor go away at least some! I have shaky hands too Donna, but with practice and high concentration on good days I can control it better ( I still have really bad days too). I have found that mixed media art helps a lot, ie stamping, sticking and doing lovely backgrounds using many of Martas techniques. Mixed media gives you a rest from actually drawing and line art - so you can keep up your painting and art journalling. Good luck and keep practising! :)

Thank you. I've been very depressed,so I tried to paint to feel better. But I couldn't paint because my mind was just fogged. So I was stuck. You really helped me. I've been watching so many art videos but I don't know, the art was beautiful but it was too much effort for me, I kept giving up even on things I know I can do because I didn't have the patience to see it through. This is so sweet, Marta, very original, I always love the combination of watercolour and lineart. 10:58 I so agree with you about earlier videos. I get comments about this too (and see it on other people's channels - I always read comments everywhere, a habit from 10 years on youtube lol) and it bugs me. These days they say you're only as good as your last song, your last art work, your last video (such a mediocre attitude) but our history shows where we've come from and what we're all about. I personally have been through many videos of yours even your first one and it's so amazing how your art and video style has evolved. So thanks for your insightful words.

This is an old video, but I hope you see my reply. I too, am a perfectionist. I've tried and tried to get my paintings to look like what the videos show, but I can't! In my head, I tell myself, "don't worry about whether the strokes are the same as the video(petals or leaves) shows! Art is about having fun! ", BUT I'm still struggling! A counselor I know who's also an artist told me to" try painting something upside down, so the other half of your brain works, and it should help you" . I haven't tried yet, but will. I always hear to just relax and let the brush, water, and paint flow. That's my problem! Relaxing, and letting go! Lol.

Marta,what paper are you using? I have just tried with mixed media paper and the drippy stems not worked for me...they are thick,and shaky....but I do have shaky hands 😂...I will still doodle on them and see what look like 😊

I'm late to the party, but I just discovered your channel about a month ago. I've been watching your videos since then, gathering materials and paper and all kinds of goodies. I still don't have real watercolor paper (I'm using sketch paper that's too thin and doesn't let the colors "move" enough) but will get that in about a week. Until then, I've been playing around with this technique -- the doodle ball flowers -- using my late father's 50 year old watercolors. The palette is limited, but they're such old-fashioned high quality that it doesn't matter; I can MAKE any color, shade, or hue! THANK YOU, Marta, for being the inspiration that finally made me get (back) into painting and drawing! I could go on and on, but I'll spare you. ;-). Be well, and keep on recording. Only half way thru lesson and love it, not like yours but practice makes great. When you mentioned no waste I wanted to say, please don’t throw away your paper towels that u have dabbed and cleaned ur brushes on. Save in my sisters honor because she made beautiful things with her leftover everything. If I knew how to put photo I would, but not comp savy. You can find her article and instructions in Cloth, Paper, Sissors. Jan/Feb 2012, issue 40. Her name is Allison Stilwell and she liked to share her craft. Unfortunately we lost Allison to pancreatic cancer shortly after that. Her article was called recycled heads. The art community misses her dearly. So check it out, all readers. Oh my gosh, I love you so much! I'm such a beginner but you always give me such find projects to try that are super easy and not intimidating. AND I remember one video you did ( I think "breaking the blank page" with the circles and watercolor around it) where you were messing with a circle, that wasn't perfectly round and you said "Stop it, Marta, It's fine. I love to have inspirational videos playing when I am crafting and yours definitely fits the bill. I am currently carving a cookie stamp with a honeycomb pattern but am imagining myself using your gravity/watercolour technique as soon as I am done this project. I have lots of markers for Zentangle and used to love doodling with them. You have inspired me to get back into it. Do you ever buy the coloured markers? Doodling in colour adds a whole new perspective to creativity. The set I have is made by Staedtler and are called "Triplus Fineliner" - .3mm. Can we post pictures in the comments section if we want to share our version of your lesson?

This doodle reminds me of Christmas ornaments, if you flip the paper upside down. I love your videos. You have inspired me to doodle and it is very therapeutic.
