Sorry for late reply. The stems will not fall apart because it is braided. I usually remove the tie after a month

Sorry for late reply. you can rebraid from the top too just follow the pattern of the braid. Just remove the leaves to clear its stems then start the braid.

Hello. Just remove the tie found just below the leaves and from there you can continue the braiding going up. Put back the tie to secure it.
