You can glue a small piece of Velcro (loop side) to the bottom of your lure and then saturate it with scent.

The pyramid brought back some memories. We took off to Trojan when it was still there on the Columbia. Never had plucked like this before. Cast out boom tangled with the guy below me. He was very patient with me. After the third time he handed me a pyramid and said use this. It digs into the sand and will not roll like the teardrops. That worked great. Went to give it back he said keep it.

Do this alot when the ri ers are high, but I use a side planer. It's not seen very often but very effective with plugs and you can move your plug around a and up and down a seam from shore. Great eps.

@@MatanuskaHIGH Ya I remember when those things came out, I bought one and tried it out a few days later. Hooked up my plug, tossed it out and then the planer. Thought wow that's kind of cool, as I watched it work a few feet from shore, and all of a sudden POW, it blew up and I thought someone shot my side planer!! It was a steelhead, 10lbs. Funny story, but those things work to cover alot of water and I still use it today.

Wow this brings up old memories from the time I spent in Washington, we'd fish the Cowlets, Tootle and Columbia. We would run a double rig where applicable with a Spin N Glo as the bottom rig with a 3-way further up the leader with a drop leader and pyramid wt off the 3-way, further up we ran another 3-way with a bead to stop the Flatfish that we would clip on after, those were fun times. Thank you great video.

Need to show double rig setup with a spin and glo on the bottom and a plug slid down the main line to a barrel swivel and bead....I usually cast a little more downstream so that plug is pretty close to the spin and glo that is baited...with both close to being inline of each other I feel the fish think the scent is coming from both presentations and will willingly bite both....any comments or other suggestions??

Could you use a brads Super Bait mini/3.5 cut plug?
@fishhead3604 жыл бұрын
It wouldn't dive. If u put it on a fixed leader to get it down it may be an idea for spring Chinook. For steelhead I would stick with the diving plugs on the sliding leader.

hey can someone please answer my question: for casting spinners for salmon and/or steelhead, is it best to use a Fast taper or a Moderate Fast taper?

I think this is illegal under Oregon Regs, although God knows I have a hard time understanding the ODFW regulations. But they do say that for steelhead and salmon: " All weight, if not part of conventional lure, must be attached on the fishing line between the lure and the end of the rod."
