Adding just a little splash of white vinegar to the wet paper towel helps even more. Plus it kills things that we can't see.

I have used this cleaning method for many years, including a George Forman grill. I do an extra step with these mini appliances. The rings around the bases and lids are easily cleaned with cotton buds. Great video. Thank you.

For the waffle cooker I just cut down a little silicone pastry brush and use it to clean in between the spaces especially on the waffle iron! 💜

How do you clean the hinges when they are covered in hamburger grease?
@CounterCooking Жыл бұрын
Sometimes I use a small cleaning brush with non-abrasive bristles.
@reneesvensson1149 Жыл бұрын
I will try brushing the hinges next time. I tried to wash them lightly with soap and water but the griddle made a bad smell the next time I used it. Hopefully I didn't ruin it.

I use a sponge sometimes on mine then I use a paper towel if it has stuck on food. I did notice that if anything overflows a little the wet paper towel is a great 💡 idea. Thanks. I bought the egg bite maker recently so I can grill sandwiches (griddle too small) but I found that it doesn’t get hot enough to actually grill my 🍞😢. I noticed that they are now made in Indonesia 🇮🇩 so maybe they reduced the temperature…same wattage as older reviews though…really upsetting to find out especially since I paid 3x more for it than any of my other minis. I’d hoped to use my egg cooker to grill or heat water in my lil kettle I have but if there isn’t water in it the alarm is ear piercing like a smoke detector and it won’t turn on. I may have to just bake my own bread in a soup can so I have the right size to grill sandwiches. The 8” griddle is cute but at 760w it takes too much power. Your channel is awesome, by the way. I appreciate you taking time to share your experiences with us. They are very useful.

My egg bite maker does toast a sandwich - the sandwich needs to be thick enough to touch the top of the pan.

After I clean mine I put it on a paper towel on shelve and still the paper towel is greasy
@colleenscott866 Жыл бұрын
There's a small drainhole on the underside of the griddle. That's where the grease is coming from on your counter or shelf. Try wiping it last, then giving it another few minutes to see if it's finished draining.

that’s not clean-just wiped - what about bacteria and also crumbs or oils that run down the edge connector
@CounterCooking2 жыл бұрын
What about them? That wasn't an issue here.
@rainlei93242 жыл бұрын
@@CounterCooking but you’re instructing on how to clean it- which logically means how to clean after you have cooked on it - if there’s been food on it- and especially grease then wiping it with just water is not a sanitary way to clean - that doesn’t make it clean of germs, food or grease -if just looks clean you need soap and water or something as close to that as possible you’re trying to show people how to clean - it’s irresponsible to say hey cool and clean it by wiping. with wet towel
@CounterCooking2 жыл бұрын
@@rainlei9324 There is nothing wrong with wiping it with water to clean it. In order to use it, it has to be plugged in and the blue light must GO OFF which means that the appliance has reached a temperature of approximately 350 degrees. That temperature kills any "germs" which may be on the surface. People cooking with cast iron skillets (for centuries) never used soap on their skillets and nobody ever got sick from "germs" because heating the skillet kills the germs. It's irresponsible to make uneducated accusations.

@@rainlei9324 after cleaning with a paper towel, spray a solution of water and vinegar and wipe again. Vinegar is antibacterial and the smell does not linger.
