Hell yeah Chris. Been watching you for about 8 years. Your teaching is spot on and easy to follow. Keep teaching. I forward your instructions to every golfer I know.

Hi Chris. I have to say this video opens the door to understanding the proper swing and release of the golf club. No one even come close to your descriptions on u tube. I wish you all the success in the golf world...thank you!!

Great video! The clock face and dropping the hands makes so much sense to keep your swing inside, which is something I’m constantly struggling with on my drives. No one I’ve seen has explained it so explicitly and direct before. I’ve just heard “you want an inside to outside club path” which is all Greek for a beginner like me. Thanks so much!!

Thanks Chris, Major over the top slicer here. Been working on the 5 o’clock drill in the back yard with plastic practice balls for the past two days. Went to the range range today and it felt really great. No slices. Hit a couple left, but everything else was great. This drill finally has me swinging inside out!

Chris, you’re a star, once again. The tip at 1’30” to slide down the right thigh to get correct shoulder tilt worked a treat. It does seem to be changing how my right hand lands on the grip (rotated more around the back of the grip; not sure if that’s weaker or stronger for the right hand) but really helping me to get and stay behind the ball and get back to it from the inside. And that in turn lets me get after it more so I saw my max distance much more often in today’s range session and the slice was more of a power fade. Thanks

Great explanations, can't wait to take these drills to the range! I've heard tip #1 a thousand times, but no one has ever explained WHY you would do it and what you're trying to correct regarding closing the shoulders. Really great explanations. Subbed!

Thanks Chris, this video is really helpful, and I can practice these drills at home into a net here in the snowy and cold northeast US. Though I still play to a 10+/- handicap at 60 years of age, my struggle with producing a repeatable, reliable ball flight stems directly from an inconsistent in-to-out swing path. Looking forward to the results this coming spring after incorporating these drills. Cheers!

Hi Chris, with the 5 o clock drill how do you marry that up to a full swing. Do you need to rotate the lower half first?
@Sreeve942 жыл бұрын
Chris, this feels contradictory to what I’ve been taught - that the first move at the top of the downswing should be with your hips/lower body towards the target. Is that concept still correct here? Do the hips still move before the hands and arms drop?
@PNW_Sportbike_Life20 күн бұрын
This is what my coach is teaching me. Backswing, fire the hips. I think all of the advice in this video would also be very helpful.
@724riff Жыл бұрын
Chris , thanks for your help, I'd like to ask if this is a fair analogy , the trail shoulder obviously rotates in the backswing and downswing but doesn't move off of its spot at address , at some point it has to but I am not sure , would attempting an inside out swing path with that be a good swing thought or not . It looks like your trail shoulder hangs back by your trail foot so that's what makes me think of this

Superb drill Chris.. it seems to me that this will also help with the pull am I right in saying so?

Does the 5 o'clock concept work with irons and hybrids as well?
@Smit20882 жыл бұрын
With driver when we are supposed to hit up on the ball, do we do this by letting the club head overtake the hands at impact. I was told the hands still need to be ahead but I can’t get my head around that concept (hands ahead but still hit up)
@oceanyt82 ай бұрын
Hi Chris. Is this the same for long iron?
@davidwalters3132 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much for this Chris. Would trying to keep your head behind the ball at impact help? When I do this I feel my upper body is leaning back away from the target. Is this right?

Hi Chris When I try to drop the club at behind me - for some reason the club face ending up way open. Any recommendations on mixing in these 3 drills and still controlling face-to-path?
@matthewkodamaADG2 жыл бұрын
I'm not Chris, but you're going to want to check your face angles on your takeaway and top of the swing. An open face on the downswing is often a result of it being open on the backswing.
@jrr24792 жыл бұрын
For driver: Release the club to a point LONG before the ball, you will be closed at impact and hit up on the ball. This guy explains it very well and has fixed my slice: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fX_JmoyMdqx7nsU
