I wish I knew this year's ago when I shot my first rabbit, it wasn't a kill shot and I ended up twisting it's neck and it wasn't immediate. Broke my heart and I quit all hunting and fishing for years also because I was a cruel kid that enjoyed hurting animals until that moment. Now I hunt and fish with only catching food as the intention and killing as humane as possible. I respect this video very much

I've been there. My first deer was a small button buck that I got a bad shot on. It nearly removed his front leg. He limped off into the brush, and I had to move in to dispatch him as he tried to crawl away. I've also shot a squirrel with round nose ammo, and had to keep chasing him and shooting him several times while he was trying to hide under his tail. I only hunt with hollow points now, and I make 100% sure that my sights are set perfectly before hunting. It's such a horrible feeling when you don't get a quick clean kill. It definitely changes you.

It's shockingly humane when you stop to think about it. Key words being stop to think about it. People don't realize how pain, adrenaline, and death works in animals. Even if you hit a deer double lung with a nice broadhead and it takes a few minutes for it to go down, they still haven't even felt any pain, the adrenaline blocks all that out. Take for instance soldiers in combat. Most people don't even realize it when they get shot, at least at first. You'd feel a poke or a push, but not really pain yet, till the adrenaline goes away.

oh I knew I was shot it felt like a baseball bat wack that knocked me down but and the adrenaline rush is a high you will never forget and thinking about multiple times every day. EVERYDAY I do remember rubbing my had on my body looking for more blood to serif I was hit more than once. 1 star...don't recommend it to a friend.

Thank you. I kept hens as pets, they get injured or ill and in a rural setting a vet miles away will laugh at you if you call them at 02.00 hrs because a fox or badger has got in and injured them. I asked the vet what to do and he showed me how to dispatch an injured or sick hen. Since then I was confident I could swiftly dispatch a suffering creature. First time wasn’t easy but doing what’s best for the animal should be every caring persons goal. If you can’t do it, don’t keep small animals.

I do not find it intellectually appropriate to hunt animals other than cows, lambs, chickens and certain types of fish as a hobby. Except for survival in an emergency. Being killed by predators in nature does not change the fact that we are intelligent human beings, it is just an excuse.If you insist on looking at it with the same logic, the following example will be correct; There are abusers, thieves, mean people out thereThey can kill your children, innocent people or your loved ones, this is the reality of life and these things happen. So, if I kill your child for my own pleasure, this should also be considered normal, and humans are also classified as animals. Ethical aspects are of course debatable, but I think a highly intelligent person can understand this. And remember, just because rabbits don't scream or freeze when held this way doesn't mean they aren't in pain. You can ask a veterinarian or you can prove this scientifically as a result of a short-term research.

Around here rabbits have very few predators so the numbers need to be thined out. You can keep gettting your steroid antibiotics filled supermarket meat and I will keep feeding my family with organic, grass fed, free range protein that tastes better and is healthier for you. I actually had a woman FLIP out on me because I told her my rabbits were meat rabbits. She screamed at me for a solid five minutes before asking if I had anything to say for myself. I simply asked her if she ate meat, she said yes, but that she buys hers from the grocery store. I just looked at her.. I asked where she thought those animals came from.. she gawked at me and said ‘store bought meat does not come from LIVE animals!’ I chuckled and said my meat didn’t come from LIVE animals either, I dispatched them first.. she screams ‘but they WERE LIVING ANIMALS!’ I said ma’am the chicken, cow and pig that make your grocery store meat were ALIVE before they were butchered too. She shouts ‘no they were not! When whacking something to kill it, it's not always possible to know if its dead or just stunned. I remember I was on a conservation project once. Also out were a couple of rabbit catchers using the ferret and net method. I don't know how they were killing them, but the poor rabbits were giving out the most God awful screams, which went on for ages. It was horrific and the whole conservation party were effected.

Can someone please tell me why would anyone want to kill a rabbit?? I have a rabbit myself and I promise i wont do it on her

They are extremely delicious. Their fur is great for mitts. The reproduce quickly so it a constant source of meat. They don't have alot of the disease associated with chickens. We have an overabundance of them in the city since they have no natural predators

Hi @canus2154, what he has is not a pet or domestic, it's a wild animal. And unfortunately wild rabbits only live about 4 months. Catching one like this both provides food for the person who caught it, as well as a quicker death than the rabbit would have if left in nature. This video is specifically for how to humanely treat wild animals. Pets are humanely treated by staying as pets

always is a little sad to think of having to kill an animal for food if one is used to factory farmed meats from the store. that said this is the more natural and humane way all things considered

Oh it's like a priest I've seen this done before but like a neck crank, this priest is a very Humane method of dispatching game I've seen it done on fish so I really like this idea.

sure its "easy" but not humane and this doesnt kill them immediately they can live up to five mins or more as it migth seem dead it still breathes and can feel pain. As the goes into shock, less blood will flow to the brain and the animal will start staggering and will eventually die. which means they do not die the second u hit them they suffer until blood is gone from the brain which can take minutes or hours
