I absolutely think this project would be Kacha approved! Glad you added the gold. Looks a lot like one of her pieces! Beautiful. I have a question. I painted and waxed a desk three years ago. I would like to darken it because it just isn’t the color I wanted. It’s one of the first pieces I painted with chalk, paint, and put wax on. The wax is quite light, because I didn’t know what I was doing and it had a nice glass top. Lol. Do I need to totally remove the wax? If so, how do I do that?

If the wax finish is still holding well you dont have to remove it, just wax straight over it.

Maybe u can help me...I am stuck on finishing a set of 4 chairs, all solid wood, with hand made carving like some type of "flower" motif...I painted the chairs in a soft white like a very diluted coffee and milk color, they look amazing, the fabric is white background with hints of blue, green and gray and beautiful birds. Now..the chairs need something else. I am afraid to use black wax...and ruin them, it took me a looonnnnggg time removing the old finish and the most difficult part was the carving areas... So what do u suggest?? Do I make a glaze taking one color from the birds maybe a robin egg color? or go dark gray or black glaze...so for now they are there but i need to finish them to be sold before christmas...any suggestions are welcome...thanks...

80 grit? That will certainly blow through finish to expose mdf.

I only used 80 grit on the bubbled up areas from previous water damage. I had to sand down to the MDF to get it flush again.
