I like the comparison you have set up between the two methods of growing the potatoes. I'm looking forward to the results. Also, where are you getting the water for the irrigation, collected rainwater, well water of city water?

Thank you and hopefully we will have good results to show at Christmas! We are very lucky to have a natural spring on the hill above us, it supplies fresh water to our home and for irrigating the polytunnel.

Great idea of harvesting fresh potatoes on Christmas day! How many potatoes do you expect each seed potato to produce?

We normally get about 4 potatoes per seed potato. It depends of a lot of factors though, not least of which is how long they can grow before getting frosted. That puts an end to the growing season.
