Plastic ice cube trays are handy for holding small parts. If the frame is all metal, try using lacquer thinner to remove the paint.

Hi Mike, Great video and thanks for showing your step by step process for striping and preparing your locomotive for a new paint job. I also like using the 91% alcohol for striping paint, it works well on most factory painted locomotives.-Tom

Mike. I watched what you did with interest. I'm a Milwaukee modler in "O" scale so my parts and pieces are much larger. I've had success with paint stripper for metal on chassis components leaving just bare metal just needing a little tooth brush and dishwashing liquid soap scrub / rinse and drly with microfiber towel. Now ready for primer. By the way, have you posted the finished engine? I'd like to see it.

Brake fluid works great, tool and is less toxic to breathe. In either case, leave it overnight in solution before hitting the toothbrush.

Dont use brake fluid on this or kato....your engine will be in 7 or more pieces when you come back the next day....

Escanaba and Lake Superior Railroad. Are you a Yooper there in upper Michigan. Do you live near Iron Mountain? What Milwaukee Road paint scheme are you going to paint this back in? The usual black top, orange center, and black bottom with the black letters MILWAUKEE. Alcohol works good taking the paint from the plastic. If you got a toothpick you could have got some more out of the radiator and grills on the roof. I've done this paint removal with alcohol on an HO locomotive. Ready to see the video of the next step. Nope not a yooper. I live about 2 hours south of iron mountain. The paint scheme is going to be the standard Milwaukee Road switcher paint scheme. Orange and black and a herald on the side of the cab...no other lettering

@@michaelostertag2839 There is a guy that lives in East Kingsford right there at Iron Mountain that videos the Escanaba and Lake Superior railroad and post on KZbin. He's always talking about being a yooper and that's where that came from. I meant no disrespect. You might have seen his channel its Jason Asselin. Name and channel name.
