You could use the leftover from the bottoms to make a short but contrasting flat hem, peplum hem, ruffled hem, etc!

Also I just tried this, being my first time sewing a crop top tee or anything lol it came out okay.. one side was bigger than the other so it was hard for me to pin the fronts together because it wasn’t even .. whew it was tough but I kept going .. and sewing the back was def easier lol ( straight line )

What do you recommend to hem the bottom of the shirt to make it more clean/neat ? Also you said you change the thread color for each side .. did you have to change the bobbin to do that or just the needle thread ?

So you can use a twin needle to hem the bottom or if your machine doesn't have that, just use a straight stitch (zigzag stitch creates a wavy hem) Change whichever is best according to your sewing. If your darker color is facing down when sewing, have your dark thread in the bobbin and vice versa, hope I'm making sense!
