Interesting idea, but you are basically shorting the battery, it will be destroyed very fast. In terms of practicality it is cheaper to buy a plastic welding gun for some 20 bucks than destroy a battery that can cost 3-4 times more.

I'm not electrically inclined .. can you briefly explain why this destroys the battery?

@@THE-X-Force When the batteries are designed for a certain tool they take into account the maximum power consumption plus a safe margin over that consumption. What you are doing is a dead short which means that you are drawing maximum current which leads to temperature rise inside the battery, fast deterioration of it and in some cases it will catch fire.

​@@THE-X-ForceBattery catches fire if you are unlucky,but if you want a darwin award,keep the camera rolling. (sometimes the battery explodes.....there are plenty of examples) Fyi. I use either a hot air gun....(big jobs) Or my little gas gun which is designed so you can load it with a disposable cigarette lighter.(fiddly stuff) Or my Iron (I hate ironing,if you do this early on in your marriage she hides her ironing stuff😊suits me)

Your tool is a low resistance drain so basically you are shorting the battery; battery damage or even fire can occur.

Meu amigo, eu fiz um molde para os arames que soldam o plastico. Usei um pedaco de madeira, finquei um pequenos pregos sem cabeca, no formato de S , W , M. conforme sua preferencia. Ficam todos do mesmo tamanho, e rapido para fabrica-los. Abraços.

Very clever way to fix broken plastic, I suggest to apply some filling material to hide the tiny remaining tips on surface too. what if it is 4 to 5 mm thickness plastic and have load too! like clothes dryer by sun many thanks to you
