Nothing is obvious to an elderly male . This makes sense and it's obvious. Thanks.

... or a kind of a knot done a different way. I really like this approach. Clever and ends up secure and neat at the same time. Thanks.

Excellent! It does leave your thread doubled so you would need to take that into account too, when using more or less than 2 threads?

How do I do embroidery without doubling ththe thread? I've seen people do threadpainting with single thread and I want to try it too
@ornelladay20415 жыл бұрын
Hi, I have seen this before but haven't tried it out yet. What happens if you don't need to sew with the doubled thread, ie embroidery with 2 or 3 strands, don't want to become 4 or 6 - what happens with the extra thread? When I'm embroidering I start be just leaving a short tail (no knot) i ensure that it lies in the direction i am stitching and ensure that the first few stitches at the back go over the tail to enclose it.

Ornella Day I had the same query! Great for 2 threads but what about three etc? I do mine like you do! Elizabeth
@EasySewing4Beginners5 жыл бұрын
This technique would only work if you are using two threads. I have seen your short tail technique used before and it would be a great solution if you are only using one thread.

so it's normal to leave one end just not tied off at all dangling there? how weird.
