Everyone says chicken rice, bak ku teh, chilli crab is our national dish. But Cai Fan is SG national dish. It's really unique to us and every Cai fan stall will have curry chicken, sweet sour pork, curry veg, cabbage, long beans, steam egg....

I am the type of person who rather spend 10-15 mins to walk out to get a caifan than to order food delivery. So lucky we have caifan here in Singapore. It's just the food I go for when I am absolutely tired from work and don't want to think what to eat. And who says Singapore is expensive? $4-6 for a caifan compared to $10 and beyond for a really average restaurant food elsewhere in a mall. By the way, how come no one gets salted egg fish/chicken? I will go for 1 veg, 1 tofu/ egg, 1 meat.

When I see what lots of Singaporean (esp. younger people) show what they eat. They first eat out way more and do not like ordering/eating veggies or just stewed (no fresh vitamins etc.) the whole day and most days of every week. Lots of carbs and protein plus sweet drinks/fruit. 😳

Chicken curry, cabbage or eggplant, egg tofu, taugeh and fried chicken for Chai Png. Kuah assam pedas, beef rendang, fried potatoes, fried cabbage, begedil and sambal belacan for nasi padang. Mutton perettal, cabbage, cucumber acar, boiled egg, ayam bawang and papadums for indian mixed rice.

if i am not wrong, scissors cut scissors is one of the best "cai fan" in Singapore. My combo there will be rice, cabbage, pork chop, pork belly, sunny side up, curry chicken which they call royal flush =D.

Used to love Cai Png, but now that I'm more conscious about what I put into my body and finding out that Cai Png is really frickin' high in calories, that the protein weightage is trash, the amount of oil and saturated fats...I'm limiting myself to only having it like once a month:( But hey, not being a health nut and saying shit about all of you who eat it regularly!
