Why can't this be in freestanding ranges? We have 1000+ Fahrenheit self-clean modes, so why not an "authentic pizza" mode?
@flain2835 жыл бұрын
Like mopardude1000 said warping. Not the oven itself but usually for the self-clean mode you need to take all the shelving and the shelving supports also usually come out so it's an empty box. If you leave them in then they warp and can get damaged. It would be good to see some kind of non-warping shelving system though to make it possible.

I use a 1/2 inch baking steel set on the top rack of my oven... set oven to 550 for about 45 minutes then turn on broil 5 minutes before i put the pizza in. The key to it is to leave the door partially open (broil position) so the thermostat will not cycle the broiler off. This way I get 750f with incredible floor spring. With a dough hydration at about 60 to 65 percent... turning once, I get an excellent pizza in 2 to 2.5 minutes.

@giovani55866 жыл бұрын
True, but this could be very useful for someone who has no outdoor space
@luisbravo40086 жыл бұрын
@@giovani5586 yes probably but its just not practical overall. You can get a really great crispy all the way cooked pizza crust with a stone or steel for a max of 30 dollars and preheating it for a minimum of an hour. Thats it, its not a 2 minute pizza but 2 versus 10 isnt a huge deal especially since youre limited to such a small size. For 800 dollars you can get a respectable range and bake anything youd like
@giovani55866 жыл бұрын
@@luisbravo4008 yeah true, and also if you live in a "big pizza city" you could have some years of pizza with this money
@fordhouse8b6 жыл бұрын
@@@luisbravo4008 The two minutes is not only about speed, it is mainly about the texture of the finished product. As or size, when it takes only two minutes, you can make several little pizzas in the time it would take to bake one in a regular oven. You will get a fantastic pizza with a stone or a stela's in a regular oven, but it still won't replicate heat from above the pizza in a wood fired oven. I'm guessing the small size is one of the things that enable it to be heated up to such a high temperature relatively quickly and efficiently. The main cost for us regular folks if we decided to buy this cool (hot?) machine would be for a kitchen large enough to house it. Even if I decided to splurge and buy myself this appliance, i would have nowhere to put it without sacrificing too much scarce counter space. As for the price, plenty of people of modest means I am aquatinted with think nothing of spending far more for things like jet skis, rifle scopes, bikes, motor cycles, camping equipment, etc. Some people spend $800 on shoes or a suit. If my kitchen was large enough, and my wallet a bit thicker, I would choose something like this over any of those things. It would have little to do with practicality, and everything to do with fun. $800 is not a huge sum to spend on a hobby.

Microwave Radiation Cooking is a heating process that does not require physical contact between the heat source and the food being cooked; instead, energy is transferred by waves of heat or light striking the food. @Marathonracer3 жыл бұрын
Yes, you certainly can pour olive oil before baking, on any pizza in the Breville Pizzaiolo In only 2miin, for a Neapolitan pie, or even 3 min, the oil doesn't get hot enough to smoke and burn . In other styles, like New York style on manual, for about 5 min, it still won't burn because you're using a lower temperature setting, top temp at around 550 Degrees, or even 600 degrees, and on the preset, it's at a much lower temperature than that. for New York style, so even though it's baking for 7 or 8 mins, there's still no problem. Extra virgin olive oil is usually added to most pizzas in the Breville. . It's perfectly safe. Its also a fantastic pizza oven ! Did you buy it yet? If you did, how do you like it?

@Dave Fox That's only around the inner door frame, where it's not even visible with the door closed, as you can clearly see in the video. That can't be avoided in ANY pizza oven that gets that hot, which is actually proof of its power. And you will see the exact same thing,with commercial wood fired ovens and coal fired ovens costing ten times and more, that would take up more half your kitchen , and can't be used indoors without huge ventilation fans. Same with competing outdoor wood fired or gas ovens that can't even be used indoors. because of the dangerous fumes they emit, which is not a problem with the Breville Pizzaiolo, because it's electric. The rest of the oven can easily be cleaned .

It also comes with a good punctured, metal peel that work well. It has six preset options for New York, Neapolitan, pan , thin and frozen pizzas as well as a manual option to set the top and bottom temperatures separately. It heats up quickly and does a fantastic job, uses less electricity than my Viking oven that takes an hour to preheat with a 3/8"thick baking steel! With the smaller, hotter pizza oven (the Chefmate goes up to 800 and a bit over), and preheats in only about 20 minutes. I'm now making pizzas more frequently. I love that companies are now making these great, indoor counter top electric ovens.The only reason I might buy another one in the future would be if they came up with one as good as the Chefman or similar,that has a rotating stone! No problem lowering the temps to anything you want. It has presets for both of those. For deep dish , Chicago Style, you would probably use the "Pan" preset. I has a "Thin and Crispy" preset as well. It also comes with a very heavy duty deep dish pan that fits it. Or, you could switch to the Manual Mode and customize the settings for top and deck temps, which are independently adjustable and experiment till you get it exactly the way you want it.

To answer you actual question, Michele, this will work on a standard 15 amp household circuit; you don't need a dedicated 20A circuit like a refrigerator might. (Nominal voltage in the USA is 120 volts. This device draws 1800 watts at full power per the manufacturer's specifications. 1800W ÷ 120V = 15A.) However, just to be safe, I wouldn't run this oven and a toaster or blender on the same circuit at the same time.

Excuse me, but there is another electric product that SMOKES this one. The GE Monogram Pizza Oven gets to 1300F, has a stone floor, fits in a standard wall oven cavity, requires NO ventilation, makes perfect Neapolitan pizza and only cost about $10K. I use mine nearly every day.

@The Pursuit You get the same exact flavor from a pizza baked in the Breville Pizzaiolo. It's a common myth, believed by non-pros, that a wood fired oven imparts smoke/wood flavor to the pizza. The flavor enhancement is actually due to the CHARRING of the crust, as well as the charring combined with different flours in the dough,, which the Breville does beautifully. In a wood fired oven, there is too much convection air current from the arching flames and dome, combined with a short bake time, to allow for any wood/smoke flavor to even penetrate the dough or the toppings. Same is true with coal fired ovens, although there's no flame. The dough is baked far from the coals, and there's almost no smoke.

okay can you put a frozen pizza in this unit and what temp
@Marathonracer6 жыл бұрын
@ Sue Fox Yes! It actually has an automatic preset for frozen pizza . In manual mode, for frozen pizza, the recommended settings are 400-450 degrees for the deck temp. and 350-400degrees for the top, for 10-20 mins. On manual , you can independently customize the deck and top temps to anything your want ! The preset decides that for you, so you don't have to change anything unless you want to customize it.

The best homemade pizza for me is the one I make by buying, very economically, the ready to bake 12" dough platforms (2) in a sealed envelope for about $2.74 from Walmart. I prepare my own sauce from a can of crushed tomatoes, my choice of spices and seasonings, my favorite cheese (swiss), and vegetables sauteed in olive oil. I bake it in my oven-broiler, which accommodates a 12" pie. It's easy, quick, and cheap. It tastes delicious.

anyone tried one of the attachments for a kettle grill with a pizza stone?
@brisci5 жыл бұрын
I have a Kettle Grill for a Weber, the problem is keeping the temp up high enough to do a pizza. They turn out good but I always have to re-stoke the fire. It work pretty well for about 2-3 pizzas, that is where you lose temp. Like the Chef said you aren't buying wood firing up the wood oven etc. There are some new ovens that use wood pellets which are less expensive I believe. Which might be a good middle ground on price/performance. ooni.com/products/ooni-3 Outdoor wood burning ( although pellets) but way cheaper than this appliance. This seems more expensive than most home ranges for a very specific purpose of making a pizza. They have a price range.
