I'm a white woman, he's not racist, do you even know what that word means😂 I try to be respectful and not jump in black and other non white spaces unless I actively have something to contribute as I appreciate those willing to share their truths with me. I'm on your comment now. He said to correct the whitewashing of the history, ABSOLUTELY! Black history is HISTORY the facts need to come to light the redacted information needs to be told, and until then we can not heal and move forward. We can not pass over the parts we dislike because we want to keep the way they were written. I do not understand how anyone who claims intellect would want to cut and paste history and not know all the truth, the good and bad. How do we grow if we cover ourselves in the weeds and not allow the rain and sun through. There will be mud, and a mess will be created but after we will bloom into a better people all of us. We can learn and grow and I just don't understand how people miss this. White people (of course not all white people come on now use you brain) are so whiney, that privilege of a toddler never seems to leave them. Refusing to grow up and learn something and definitely not think about ayone but themselves OMG seriously. transference of your wants and needs to others should be something the majority are capable of yet it seems the empathy is broken in us sometimes. Pull up your big pants and stop being so freaking incorrectly righteous, it's exhausting 🐇💕

At the very best, students will only retain the facts in isolation. Black ppl's history must be discussed when appropriate. Meaning in chronology with everything else. Black ppl had an impact on the world around them. Rosa, Martin, Ruby, Dubois, Malik, and them were major agents of change. Lessons and books about them in February are highly appropriate.
