HSV2 is generally below the waist and does not have to be on the genitals. If someone has either and partakes in oral sex, it doesn’t matter which one i is as it will transfer to non-keratinized tissue (mouth, lips, genitals) or if you have an open wound and come in contact with the virus, you will contract the virus in that area. As of now, there is no cure but someone are in the works as well as preventive medications like what has been created for HPV. Some more stats: Roughly 5/7 people (globally I believe) carries HSV1 wether symptomatically or asymptomatically. Around 3/5 carry HS2, which is way doctors WILL NOT screen you for either unless you specifically ask because it is basically an endemic/ubiquitous in the World. Your best chance of not contracting it (if you don’t have a variant) is to reduce your partners or protection at all times/checks frequently. Also BE EXTRA DILIGENT IN “MONOGAMOUS” RELATIONSHIPS where we tend to be more lax. Also fact: the herpes simplex family contains viruses such as Chickenpox Shingles, HSV1/2 and Mono.

The "H" is a tricky one. One can have it for months with no signs or symptoms and still spread it. Also, she should have mentioned that an infected person can still spread it with no signs or symptoms. The blood testing is hit or miss. I once had a false positive in my mid 20's while getting routine testing. I got tested two more times and both negative. My Ex of two years got this from someone. She tried to claim that it was from her likely gay brother, and that it was dormant for years. It wasn't. I have multiple conditions in a very sensitive immune system something like that could kill me and if she truly loves me she'd never have tried to expose me too it. We learned after I had sent her for screening for PCOS which it turned out she also had after recognizing the symptoms. I didn't yell I didn't scream I questioned her about it, I tried to make things work as my brain put together what had happened and that she'd gotten Herpes from "JUST a friend ' I later found out that she had been buying clothes for this guy, she had known him since college, meanwhile she refused to get a job and a number of other things that didn't bother me until the lying and cheating caused me to see her in a different light. Long story short, marriage doesn't guarantee people won't cheat. Good man are taught not to question much because we're insecure or misogynistic if we do. Herpes and other STDs can kill those whom have extremely sensitive immune systems. If you love your partner you won't cheat and you really won't hide an STD and get mad when they find out.
