Having worked at Chipotle, it is possible for the Queso to seem watered down. If it's older, it could be moisture. Unlike Panera where I also have worked, Chipotle as a company does not donate leftovers to food banks. Some stores might, but not all stores throughout as a company policy the way Panera does. The queso in the morning MAY be leftover from the previous night if there was a lot and it was recently made not too long before closing the night before. So, if you get it early, it may taste watered down (or again if it sat unsold for a while then natural condensation could affect it.) The original queso was yellow and wasn't great. They brought in the white queso a few years ago as a promo and everyone loved it more so they wised up and switched from yellow to white queso (I wanna say around late 2019- early 2020) and it's SO much better.

Paneras food can be packaged better and temperature controlled for redistribution to food banks. Its a health and safety issue. Cooked food on a hotline that may have sat too long is hard to pinpoint the accuracy of temperature and freshness. Keep in mind the e coli outbreak that killed people and set Chipotle back years! Unless chipotle is donating sealed meat from the distributor and tortillas i wouldnt want it either. Its a liability.

I work at Chipotle and we get people yelling at us allllll the time because they didn't get rice in their bowl when they order online 😂 it doesn't automatically come with rice and people tend to forget that

That sounds like something corporate should fix with the website. It should be obvious af which ingredients are selected. Maybe make it like the store where you are flat out asked if you want rice and what kind before you move on to the next choice. Disappointing customers because things aren't obvious enough is bad. Even Subway has default ingredients when you order online.

In my own personal case as a former chipotle worker, it’s because of portion control. The food runs out quick especially how busy the store gets and a scoop of everything already enough for everyone and people aren’t even finish their food and will eventually throw it away which is already wasting good

My Chipotle is great. They will stuff the burrito so much that sometimes they need two tortillas to wrap it !! I get their crunchy tacos often too......they are over flowing with toppings....I end up needing a fork to clean the bowl up. I've never had an issue with quality, everything tastes super fresh ....great value at $8 ( but that fishy tasting pork is pork that's going bad ! that's no bueno !! )

Let us know...did you get sick later? When I worked at Chipotle, some co-workers were disgusted by the Carnitas as they said it smelled like feet or vomit. I dunno, I never got that. As for yours reminding you of tuna, I had that happen a few times. I don't think it's what others mentioned that it may have gone bad, as I had it and thought it reminded me of tuna or something, but it wasn't fishy, just odd. I think what may happen is what it's stored in. All of Chipotle's meat are shipped vacuum sealed in plastic bags. The chicken and steak are raw and the store employees make the seasoning marinade and then the cook cuts them up and cooks them fresh on site. The barbacoa and carnitas are sent pre-shredded and pre-seasoned. Sometimes if the barbacoa is not cooked correctly it can be oily/greasy. If the carnitas are not cooked correctly, they pick up the "smell/flavor" of the plastic bag they are in, and that may be the "tuna" sensation that you're getting. I'm not positive, but that's kind of what my experience was when I worked there. As for the steak, it could have been that the taste of the carnitas was still present in your mouth. Had you cleansed your palate, it may have been different? Maybe they were bad, or maybe not, either way is possible. I am not a steak person in general, but I always found Chipotle's dry...even when just freshly cooked.

I just ate chipotle a few days ago, and we always do extra rice to ensure you get a good portion for your money and also my bf is into weight gaining... my burrito was alittle bigger than yours and my boyfriends bowl was a joke, idk if they were running out of rice and since i preordered for pickup, they wanted to make it even with needing more rice, im not sure... I feel like instead of ever giving a person a wimpy ass burrito their rule should be to fill with either rice or lettuce, no matter what. I ordered a few times ago and the chicken was so overcooked, it was tough af. Another time my bf finished the online order and somehow my order was changed to a burrito with only chicken.. it fit in the palm of my hand..lol

At Chipotle when I worked there I believe that the amount of meat in the 3 tacos is the SAME amount in ONE burrito or ONE burrito bowl. They are supposed to use the same amount, but divy it up between the 3 tacos. A burrito, a bowl, a salad, and the 3 tacos are all the same price, so it makes sense that the amount of meat would be the same. People ALWAYS try to cram WAAAAAAY too many items into the tacos. Folx, they're tiny! You DON'T want to stuff them!! If you wanna cram something with lots of items, get a bowl. All that stuff in a taco causes them to break, and all that stuff in a burrito causes it to rupture. It may not seem like a lot, but the amount of items in all 3 tacos is about the same as what is SUPPOSED to be in a burrito, a bowl, or a salad. People just ask the servers to overload them. Pro Tip: Get a BOWL and ask for a tortilla or shells on the side. They used to be free, but people were greedy and asked for like 3-5 side tortillas so now they charge. Pro Tip 2: Ask for the free toppings on the side in the to-go cups, and then put what you want into the tacos later, so you can't blame anyone but yourself if you overstuff them and they break.

I haven't lived near a Chipotle in almost 4 years but the one I used to live near was a GREAT one and oh my lord I miss it! I always got a chicken bowl, white rice, both kinds of beans, fajita veggies, fresh salsa, corn salsa, cheese, lettuce, sour cream, and guacamole. Chips on the side. And they packed that bowl so I got 2 full meals out of it, every time.

I've worked at both Panera and Chipotle, so it's funny that your last video was about Panera, and this one is about Chipotle! Chipotle's chips are premade and precut tortillas, and they are sent in a giant plastic bag inside a big carboard box. They are stored in the walk-in cooler and then scooped out to be fried. Once fried, they are tossed in a giant bowl with lime juice and salt. They make a TON of them in the morning to fill regular, large, and kid sized bags. If they can, they make more after the lunch rush and before the dinner rush. So, if they were stale, perhaps someone left the bag open in the cooler. That is fixable, but it can cause at least the top portion to be stale. Also, if they were made in the morning and haven't sold by late afternoon they could be stale.
